A White House official said the proposal would be included in the president's proposal for long term deficit reduction that he will announce Monday. The official spoke anonymously because the plan has not been officially announced.

Obama is going to call it the "Buffett Rule" for Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor who has complained that rich people like him pay a smaller share of their income in federal taxes than middle-class taxpayers.

Buffett wrote in a New York Times op-ed piece last month that he and his rich friends "have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress."

The measure would be in addition to $447 billion in new tax revenue that Obama is seeking to pay for his short-term spending and tax cutting plan to jump start the economy.

House Speaker John Boehner said Thursday he would oppose tax increases to reduce the deficit. Boehner has urged Congress' deficit "supercommittee" to lay the groundwork for a broad overhaul of the U.S. tax code.

The panel has almost unlimited authority to recommend changes in federal spending and taxes and is working against a deadline of Nov. 23.

This is class warfare taken right out of the manifesto -typical communist ploy in fact. Confiscate the wealth anyway even though a person isn't really earning an income anymore. People like Buffet who already earned their wealth by means of an income -no longer earn an income. They use that money they already earned and paid taxes on for other economic activities now that carry a greater risk but also great reward if they are successful. The tax rates are typically kept lower on these other activities in recognition they do carry significant risk and if they end up on the losing end, too bad. But they are activities the rest of us all significantly benefit from so we want them to risk it. We NEED them to risk it because these other activities are extremely valuable to our economy. The rest of us hope to exploit it if they are successful -while they are on their own taking it in the shorts if they are unsuccessful. And now Obama wants to strip the incentive of doing so from those economic activities -which means the risk will be even greater now and the potential reward far less. But who will REALLY be paying the price for making a risky economic activity even riskier -because it won't really be the wealthy.

What is it the left just can't grasp about economics I wonder? They are truly handicapped when it comes to understanding economics, economic activity and the creation of wealth. There is a REASON the tax rates are lower on the other activities that Obama now wants to strip from the very wealthy! Warren Buffet paid a lower tax rate than his secretary because most of the money he makes every year doesn't come in the form of an INCOME but from engaging in riskier economic activities with a far greater likelihood he will lose his money on any given venture. And worst of all, HE KNOWS IT. He doesn't give a shit that his secretary pays a higher rate of tax on her income -because he is actually paying many times more in taxes than she even earns! Like a typical rich liberal, he is actually interested in preventing other people from creating HIS kind of wealth -because the more people with that kind of wealth, the less HIS power. The more people with his kind of wealth, the more diluted HIS power. Class warfare policies are really intended to protect those with the greatest wealth by throwing roadblocks in the way of those still on their way up. And don't ever forget that. Buffet will still protect HIS wealth from Obama's class warfare bill and he won't pay one dime more than he already does. Even if it means he stops engaging in certain economic activities.

It doesn't stand a chance of passing THANK GOD because it would work to really kill investment activity in this country by the very people most able to take the risk of losing their money on it in the first place. Which means a drop in the creation of new businesses -which means NO JOBS. So sure, only the fucking stupid leftwing idiot in the White House would insist inflicting punitive taxes on the wealthy if they continue to earn by means of other economic activity will not only produce great benefit for the government -but for our economy. Its a lie -and a big one. It will throw another big roadblock in the way of any recovery.

What is it the STUPID left just can't get? It is impossible to target the rich without it hurting those on the bottom far, far worse. And why is it the left is always so stupid as to seriously believe no matter how punitive the tax rates or the fact tax rates on other economic activities offset any incentive -seriously seem to think they will never affect behavior??? If the incentive to engage in these other vital economic activities is stripped away -they won't bother risking as much money or bother making the risk at all. These other activities are already inherently RISKY, yet an activity we want the wealthy to engage in -so the tax rate of any profit from them is lower than income taxes in recognition of that. Those most willing to risk losing their money on these other economic activities are those who CAN AFFORD THE LOSS -which means THE RICH. If they lose their investment, government isn't going to reimburse them for it -so why would the wealthy bother with it if government announces they intend to inflict a punitive tax rate if they are successful? It makes a risky activity even RISKIER by doing that. The incentive to engage in these other economic activities sharply drops for an activity that is already RISKY! There is nearly a direct correlation between the drop off in risky but beneficial economic activities with each percentage point of tax increase. Yet Obama wants to more than double it for the very people we want to use their money in this way. THIS is what STUPID looks like when we elect an unqualified person with NO executive experience (and now proven to have no executive skills), NO economic education, NO economic understanding, NO experience in the private sector, NO understanding of what it takes to succeed in the private sector and then surrounds himself with "advisers" just as ignorant -but believes those who have succeeded deserve our envy, scorn, hatred -and punitive taxes on any venture they engage in. In spite of the left's constant class warfare drumbeat -there is no way to isolate and "punish" the wealthy where it will not harm those on the bottom the most. And every communist nation has done it anyway and every socialist country ended up with a permanent level of double digit unemployment and a stagnant economy by doing it.

The POOR don't create jobs. The POOR don't create new businesses. The POOR won't invest money in your ideas so you can start a new business. The POOR don't hire anyone. But they will be the ones to really pay the price for making it unattractive for the wealthy to do any of these things.

Anyone who believes Obama's stupid shell game that his repeat spending spree is paid for - is a moron too. The cuts are PROJECTED for some time in the future -after he's out of office. Never going to happen and he knows it. Its a con game -it always is when a politician claims their spending spree will be paid for years down the road with cuts to something else somehow. PROJECTED cuts are like PROJECTED increases in revenue -sheer fantasy and a lying ass SHELL GAME.

There are NO jobs in his "jobs" bill. It is no more economically stimulative in this pile of shit than there was the last time. How can anyone in their right mind believe that another massive spending bill is going to result in what it didn't get when it was twice as much? Spending MORE money no one even has! Our credit rating was lowered because our government already has an UNSUSTAINABLE level of spending with a level of debt that is STILL going to lead to catastrophe AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! So what does the leftwing extremist insist is the right answer to our economic and budget woes? MORE spending, MORE debt -and PRETEND cuts projected somewhere down the road that like all other projected cuts will never happen, shuffle the coconut shells around and pretend it accomplished something! When it didn't the last time, it won't this time -and it never will.

THIS IS WHAT OBAMA AND STUPID LEFTWINGERS CANNOT COMES TO TERMS WITH: The government can't fix the economy because it isn't the driving engine of our economy in the first place. But government must get out of the way of those who can fix it. But every time Obama refuses and insists we must double down on his LOSER POLICIES. Policies that have been repeatedly proven to be loser policies time and again everywhere in the WORLD they have been tried.

Instead Obama is insisting we must envy the wealthy even more, even HATE them for having what we didn't bother to create and earn for ourselves. Start hyperventilating and pretending the fact they no longer earn their wealth by means of an income anymore but by means of far riskier economic activity amounts to something that must be punished. I want a government that encourages MORE people to earn great wealth because we all benefit by it in many direct and indirect ways -including it pulling up the standard of living for everyone else and puts upward pressure on wages for everyone.
