Obama Millionaire's Tax: President To Seek New Tax Rate For Wealthy

Class warfare pure and simple.

"Class warfare" is used by the rich to describe the non-rich fighting back.

Fighting back against what, people wanting to keep the money they've earned?

G-d forbid.

Exactly. How dare those greedy bastards think they are entitled to keep their money!

The chutzpah of these professional parasites really is amazing, isn't it? They actually think you're supposed to feel guilty about not volunteering to give them all your money.

u r aware that Obama is volunteering a tax increase upon himself?

Uh...no, he's not.

As President, Obama earns $400,000 annually.

Unless his idea of millionaire is still $200,000, he is not increasing his own tax burden.

Of course, I imagine that Obama is still looking at people making $200,000 as "rich" since millionaires only account for .3 percent of taxpayers (according to the NY Times article I posted above) raising their taxes isn't going to accomplish much.

If that's the case, then yes, Obama is increasing his tax burden, but at the same time, he will be a full of crap and clueless...again.

 oh really!?

The Obama family earned $1.73 million last year, largely from sales of the president's books,

Obama's income drops, but the president is still a millionaire, tax returns show - Los Angeles Times

so you are highlighting his lack of business experience. Fine with me.

We need to see to it that our most fortutnate citizens are well taken care of.

Otherwise, they'll pack up and move to one of those low-tax countries.

And then what ever will we do without them?

class warfare is used to take from the givers and give to the takers.. you be a taker I assume.

Of course he is. How much you want to bet the taxpayers are paying his salary? I guarantee you that all the libturds in this forum are sucking off the taxpayers. They are defending the source of their sustenance. It has nothing to do with any concern about the "underprivileged" members of society.

OK, here is what I am hearing. The top 400 people of wealth have more income than the bottom 1/2, or 150 million people in the US.

According to you Teabaggers the problem with that is that they should have more than the bottom 250 million people in the US.

At this point, the redistribution of wealth is not only a goal, it is a neccessity if this nation is to continue to be a world leader.
You could confiscate 100% of the wealth...not just income, but everything they own...from those 400 people and it wouldn't make a dent in the debt.

Bitter envy is not a rational basis for monetary policy.

Unlike losers such as you, they take care of themselves.

That wouldn't reduce the tax code very much. All that might do is make our individual tax filings easier,

Most of the enormous tax code is industry specific because it needs to be industry specific.

That is exactly what it doesn't need. The tax code shouldn't be used by politicians to promote politically favored groups at the expense of unfavored groups.

Cold hard facts. The rich pay federal income tax. 50% of you leeches do not pay federal income tax. quit leeching and pay your fair share.

The Tax Foundation - Accounting for What Families Pay in Taxes and What They Receive in Government Spending

What Is the Current State of Income Redistribution by the Federal Government?
The results of this analysis show that federal tax and spending policies are already very heavily tilted to the poor and middle-class, even before we consider the Obama administration's budget proposals. Indeed, in 2010, before any of Obama's major policy initiatives-such as health care reform, cap and trade, and tax rate increases-are enacted, the bottom 60 percent of American families will as a group receive more in government spending than they pay in taxes. The lowest-income families will be targeted for $10.44 in spending for every dollar they pay in taxe Remarkably, families in the middle-income group—who are the target of many Obama policies—already receive $1.15 for every dollar they pay in taxes (see the light blue columns in Chart 1).

By contrast, the top 40 percent of families pay more in taxes as a group than they receive in government spending benefits. In the case of the highest-income families, they are currently targeted for 43 cents in government spending for every dollar they pay in taxes, even though they disproportionately benefit from public goods such as national defense.

Those damn greedy rich people.

Obama has cut taxes more than Bush ever did.

Obama the Silent Tax Cutter
You wouldn’t know it, but he’s cut taxes more than George W. Bush did in his first term... Obama is one of the most prolific tax cutters in recent history... Obama has cut taxes to lower levels than Bush did...

Obama planned on cutting taxes even before he became president.

Obama may delay tax-cut rollback for wealthy
President-elect Barack Obama may consider delaying a campaign promise - to roll back tax cuts on high-income Americans - as part of his economic recovery strategy, two aides said... His aides' comments suggest Obama may be wary of imposing any additional tax burden at a time of deep crisis, despite the outlook for record budget deficits and mounting national debt.

When offered 10 spending cuts to 1 revenue increase, every single candidate for GOP President said they would vote against that. Is that what the American people want, yes or no?

That's because they know it's a scam. The tax increases are effective immediately and the spending cuts are the responsibility of some other Congress far in the future. Which means they are utterly meaningless.

That taxpayers are wise to that gimmick.

Libs obviously think people are all stupid.

Really.

The Obama's made 5.5 million in 2009 and 1.7 million in 2010, mostly from book sales.

If that downward trend continues, they will make less than a million dollars in 2011.
