Remember Bush's 16 words to which he was vilified by the MSM yet they were actually true? Maybe we are just too used to President-pants-on-fire telling us stuff that just ain't true. Maybe Obama has the worse speech writers in history wishing to make him look dishonest. Whatever is the case here is another clear example of asbestos pants not quite telling the truth.

“Heat waves, droughts, wildfires, and floods – all are now more frequent and intense.” That statement was demonstrably false, as SEPP’s The Week That Was points out:

The claim is so factually challenged that it is a wonder it got by the White House staff. Looking at the weather stations that have 80 years of data shows heat records were set in the 1930s, the Palmer drought index shows the 1930s and the 1950s were hotter and dryer with the 1930’s dust bowl lasting a decade. … Increased floods are not supported by the data, and, according to the National Interagency Fire Center, wildfires are declining.

You know what caused the dust bowl don't you?
Bad ecological practices of the farmers in the midwest

And you use that as an excuse not to address manmade global warming?

Actually this is a little bit true as to why the dust bowl developed and the Earth blew away. But it isn't the reason for the Dust Bowl. There were a few good years in the plains that made farmers move to that area and grow wheat, wheat was king they made a lot of money so they planted more taking away the drought resistant plants. Then the wheat market plunged. Then the environment turned back to very little rain for several years. When the land dried the dirt blew away because of poor farming practices. Farming which the land could have never have supported in the first place.

It all came down to greed over common sense

Have a good crop.....plant more next year to make more money
Have a bad crop.....plant more next year to make up for it

No, this false and W knew it.

"We can also agree that Saddam Hussein most certainly has chemical and biological weapons and is working towards a nuclear capability. The dossier contains confirmation of information that we either knew or most certainly should have been willing to assume."

Why do you people cling to this bs?

Global drought may have changed less than thought | Environment | Science News

Here is stats on wildfires:

US Wildfires by year database. Science Daily Data powered by FindTheData.

Note that the 2011 was particularly bad because of the dought but the number of fires did not increase that much over previous years.

Here is a chart on floods, only to 2007 but it does show that the average dropped:

Of courese people like to make money, me included. The point being, the dust may have been caused by farming practices but the dought was not it was natural.

The drought was cyclical but was exacerbated by the destruction of the natural Prairie grass which helps the ground hold water

Wildfires are necessary for a healthy forest. They are not increasing the damage from wildfires is increasing. The damage from floods is increasing. Floods aren't increasing. The more we move expand and build the more damage there will be.

In politics the truth doesn't matter to either side as long as your party wins. The only losers are the American people. It's all about funneling our tax dollars to those that supported the winning party's campaign. We waste tax dollars on green energy with this president, waste it on oil next time, the only losers is us.
