Columbus Ohio - The Ohio State Buckeyes have beaten the Notre Dame fighting Irish 34 to 23, earning them the right to be called the national champions of college football. However, it was not all celebratory after the game. Shortly after getting the trophy, coach Ryan Day was informed that he had been fired. Athletic Director of Ohio State, Gene Smith, explained. "We here at Ohio State are happy that Ryan Day has won a national championship. Really, we are. However, coach Day has repeatedly failed to beat Michigan this year for the final time, an expectation our fans have here at Ohio State have for any coach. Because of that, I am saddened to relay the news that he will no longer coach for Ohio State, beginning next year."

No word yet on who may replace coach Day.

The best part of the victory came at the press conference after the game. Coach Ryan Day explained, "This was a group effort, a victory in a season of adversity that was topped off by losing to Michigan again this year. In fact, I just want to thank all those fans in Michigan for lighting a fire under us in the post season, because without them, none of this would have been possible.
