What do we have today in the US government? Some scholars say it's not democracy, or classic authoritarianism—nor is it autocracy, oligarchy, or monarchy. It is patrimonialism, and in its governmental guise is distinguished by running the state as if it were the leader’s personal property or family business. I think that's quite insightful.

Are you alluding to President Trump? If so, how is his personal property or family business part of the government?

My honest take is that it isn't strictly any form of an established type of government. In fact, you could say it is a blend of various kinds: socialism, Republicanism, Democracy, and a bit of oligarchy.
