**NOT Filing this oe Under 'Conspiracy' because the Pentagon has acknowledged they have been / are flying spy drone missions over the US, which is what this thread is about.

-------------------------

The Pentagon has deployed drones to spy over U.S. territory for non-military missions over the past decade, but the flights have been rare and lawful, according to a new report.

The report by a Pentagon inspector general, made public under a Freedom of Information Act request, said spy drones on non-military missions have occurred fewer than 20 times between 2006 and 2015 and always in compliance with existing law.

The report, which
did not provide details on any of the domestic spying missions, said the Pentagon takes the issue of military drones used on American soil "very seriously."

-------------------------

I thought the US Military could not be used against American citizens; however, technically the US Military is conducting operations within the United States Boundary against its own citizens.

-------------------------

Not just the US Military -- the FBI:

"The use of unmanned aerial surveillance (UAS) drones over U.S. surfaced in 2013 when then-FBI director Robert Mueller testified before Congress that the bureau employed spy drones to aid investigations, but in a "very, very minimal way, very seldom."
- Oh so the fact that you are spying on Americans in a 'minimal' way and it 'very seldom' happens makes it ok?

-------------------------

The article reports the military claimed the use of drones to spy in the US have always adhered to the law; however, that is NOT the case:

"But the policy said that any use of military drones for civil authorities had to be approved by the Secretary of Defense or someone delegated by the secretary. The report found that defense secretaries have never delegated that responsibility.

-------------------------

"The report quoted a military law review article that said "the appetite to use them (spy drones) in the domestic environment to collect airborne imagery continues to grow, as does Congressional and media interest in their deployment."

Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely! OF COURSE Congress / the government want to use drones to spy on the American people. We know the government has spied on Americans above and beyond what the Patriot Act allowed - POWER. The Obama administration used the IRS to target political enemies - POWER. Obama himself has his own personal drone assassination program where he nominates names onto the Kill List and HE is the one who orders which targets / people get assassinated. Using Drones to control and keep the American people in line isn't that big of a leap from what has already been done / is being done.

"Shortly before the inspector general report was completed a year ago, the Pentagon issued a new policy governing the use of spy drones. It requires the defense secretary to approve all domestic spy drone operations. It says that unless permitted by law and approved by the secretary, drones "may not conduct surveillance on U.S. persons." It also bans the use of armed drones over the United States for anything other than training and testing."

Pre-emptive self-regulation before the IG could finish his assessment and deliver his report. The new policy does NOT prevent US Military Domestic Drone Spy Ops from happening. (To be honest, with the more and more criminals, 'refugees', and terrorists being allowed in this country it may become necessary if only to keep track of them.)

From the above - 'not being able to give details about domestic spy ops using drones in the US' - it sounds like domestic spying has already taken place. I would love to know in what capacity, for what purpose - political, national security, etc?

The new policy does not prevent armed UAVs from being flown over the US and used in domestic spying here in the US IF APPROVED. Again, the ore and more violent illegals and terrorists are allowed to enter the nation, we might need these armed drones later for them...

...of course, having armed military drones over the US would make it easier for the Bureau of Land Management, EPA, and other Obama administrations to put down unruly, trouble-making American citizens who refuse to comply...and be assimilated. :p

You thought this was current news? I bet you were surprised when that guy said the government collects data on people over the internet?

No, didn't think it was current news - just thought it was an interesting topic to bring up to discuss.
