'US billionaires — including George Soros — beg to be taxed at a higher rate in order to help bolster economy: 'A wealth tax is patriotic'
-- US billionaires — including George Soros — beg to be taxed at a higher rate in order to help bolster economy: 'A wealth tax is patriotic'

How many emotionally-manipulated snowflakes are going to rush to their keyboards in support of 'this incredibly patriotic plea' by 'SOROS and other 'US BILLIONAIRES' for the US government / IRS to raise their tax rates so they can pay more is taxes?!

:p

"Anyone can pay more tax than they owe by making a donation to the US government."

So WHY don't they just do that?
-- BECAUSE THE QUESTON / IS NOTHING MORE THAN POLITICAL THEATER...AND GEORGE SOSROS KNOWS IT!

"If they alone were to pay higher taxes it would have very little effect on anything because the amount of additional money going to pay for government services (and reduce the budget deficit and national debt) would be too small to matter."

You see, they know they don’t take salaries, so they won’t get hit. They form trusts, etc, etc, etc.

How much of the wealth of these billionaires is invested in the United States? Probably not much considering that many of them have offshore accounts and manufacturing plants in other countries.

The one's that are going to be really hit by such a tax are those that have family businesses and such that are invested in the United States because their wealth is locked up in their business to create jobs.

In other words they're out to raise taxes on the middle class once again.

If in fact these people are so patriotic then why the hell don't they just give their money to the government? Again talk is cheap, and yes the liberals and Dims actually buy into this hollow rhetoric as a shinning example of patriotism and always with someone else's money, like yours, not theirs.

We don't have a tax problem.

We have a spending problem.

You can raise all the taxes you want. Politicians will spend it and demand more.

Apparently, some people do:

Gotta wonder how much of this money has come from billionaires...?

Apparently some do not.

I like the new "Transaction Tax" proposal that Bernie put forward. I might disagree on how to spend the new revenue, but the tax idea is terrific. The new tax would end high frequency trading because the fast trades with large volume get hammered. So most of us with 401k's would benefit because we don't trade often, so the tax basically misses long term investors. Also, without the high frequency traders our 401k's would grow much faster.
