I have to say I feel conflicted. If given the chance, I wouldn't eliminate the Republican Party but I sure as hell would want to. I know it would definitely serve the greater good but it would of course not be ethical to do so.

That's interesting. But would three parties lead to the kind of elections such as the last two gubernatorial elections in Maine, where the governor was elected with 30+ percent of the vote, due to a strong Independent candidate? At least with only two parties, at least half the country agrees with who is elected? I think a valid third party is an interesting idea. In Maine, over 60% of the voters didn't want him to begin with, and we've had to live with insult on top of injury...you've probably heard about him, unfortunately.
