Prisoners riot, tear apart entire U.S. prison over coronavirus fears, no guards in sight
Rioting prisoners left to die from the coronavirus and the U.S. government and mainstream media are doing nothing about it.
LANSING, Kan. (INTELLIHUB) — Video footage from inside a United States correctional facility reveals that prisoners have been rioting over coronavirus fears after guards shut off water and other essential items they need to survive and the guards are nowhere to be found.

I've said it for weeks funny how we are hearing nothing about the inmates in jail --- The CO's obviously subject them to this big scary viruses and so do the vistors . Imagine how bad some might be across the country.

It should make anyone with a brain wonder why has the prison system been so so so quite during all of this ! The silence of it is deafing for how severe this bs virus is suppose to be.

They can't even have visitors in many states.

The guards prob. moved to a safer area until they get done doing thier bs or they tear gas them.....

If the supply chains run as low as it is being said imagine what will happen in there then omg.

So prisoners are subject to rape, getting beat up, and murdered by other inmates 24/7 and all of a sudden we care about contracting the flu in prison?

Isn't it obvious that the state cares nothing about these people?

Wait until some of those who don't care end up in there themselves.

Perhaps a more nuanced reportage? Oh..and to note..this is a Kansas State facility..the OP left it unclear as to whether or not it was a Federal prison.

Close to 50 inmates on Thursday night participated in a riot at the Lansing Correctional Facility in Kansas, breaking windows and setting fires, The Associated Press reported.
According to the wire service, the riot began about 3 p.m. in a medium security holding facility, and some prisoners had either given up or gone back to their cells by 9 p.m., said Randy Bowman, a spokesman for the Kansas Department of Corrections.
Though it is unclear what motivations prompted the riot, the disturbance comes amid the spread of the coronavirus. Prisons have been identified as potential hotbeds for outbreaks for the disease, because inmates live in close, confined quarters.
The Lansing facility has come under scrutiny in the past month as the corrections department reported 14 staff and 12 inmates tested positive for COVID-19.
Bowman said the riot began when prisoners refused to go back to their cells after they were given orders to do so. Fifty inmates participated at first, but throughout the night, about 20 to 30 prisoners participated. By 1 a.m. on Friday, all participants were secured in their cells.

It must really suck to know you have made poor choises in life and how you have treated fellow Americans to end up in a confined prison during an epidemic. Not what you counted on when you did the deed(s). Too late. Tough luck. Sometimes it sucks to live with your choises.

In Washington State:

More than 100 inmates at a facility in Washington state created a disturbance over an outbreak of COVID-19 in a low-security wing of the prison.
Prisoners began to demonstrate in the recreation yard at Monroe Correctional Complex on April 8, setting off fire extinguishers.
Pepper spray, sting balls and rubber pellets were used to bring the situation under control, the state Department of Corrections confirmed. There were no injuries to the inmates or staff involved.
The incident is believed to have been caused by an outbreak of COVID-19 among six men within the facility's Minimum Security Unit.
The men were transferred to the prison's isolation unit and are being monitored by a health care team.

"The Department of Corrections continues to work at protecting medically vulnerable incarcerated individuals," the DOC said in a statement.

Prisoners are always looking for an excuse to riot. They have nothing else to do. They are hoping that they can be sprung, which is understandable.

They are in no more danger than an orderly working in a hospital. Fuck 'em.

They aren't all guilty the indoctrinated thinking we were taught " innocent until proven guilty" no the truth is you are guilty until proven innocent.

Many have been set up many aren't there as u have never been in prison now have you.

Try knowing a few who work there. It's not the image most ppl think because we weren't taught to think that.

Every American commits 3 felonies a day so you are a felon dude hahahahaha guess that makes me one tooo bahah

If you realized how easy you could end up in there it would be such an easy statements to make. Esp. inn Todays world we are being thrown in jail for just saying chit online. etc....it's. going to get much much worse..........

There are millions inn there who shouldn't be there are those iin there who didn't even do the crime they were set up.

Just like most American will be if we don't get our asses out of this mess.

There again don't always believe waht the PRESS is telling you .........

BS, Mindwars. Most often do not infractions past speeding on a daily basis. Most people in prison are guilty, often as charged for the offense, convicted. Most of the others have committed multiple offenses that brought them to the attention of law enforcement since early in life, whether innocent of the final charge that put them there or not. Met felons who were nice guys, but knew what they had been there for. Some learn. Many do not. Sometimes caught and even convicted, mostly not. Playing the odds. If you rolled the dice and ended up in prison, during the epidemic, well good luck. If you get out, hopefully you learned something this time. If you don't and get corona, maybe beating the crap out of somebody for a pair is Nikes is your capital offense with no reprieve possible except from God. It sucks to have to live or die by your choices.

Personally, I find this to be a riot. Who is/are the corp(s). who owns these prisons ? Make sure they get their check and don't tell a private business how to handle internal managing. No meddling !
