I thought the Arab Palestinian branch of the "original" Muslim Brotherhood (MB) was co-opted by Hostile Arab Palestinians (HoAP). I was lead to believe that the MB (of the 1930s) was morphed into various protest movements and to gradually become the massive Muslim takeover platforms we see today.

The Muslim Brotherhood was a reaction to Zionism in Palestine.

I have noticed that a few (very few) Islamic Leaders use the concept that the Muslims who follow the teachings of the Koran, and are promoting the pathway of peace.

I was to understand that the MB wanted to foster a framework for a more modern, peaceful, and healthy society for the Islamic communities. That it wanted to set an example create programs and services that made the Muslim Communities an example for other communities through educational and religious programs that outshine any of the other institutions.

This was a noble cause that the MB wanted to engineer.

It has not worked out that way. If anything, such variations on this theme, to include vicious organizations like the Islamic Resistance Movement, has contributed nothing to the 21st Century. The hostile activities of the Palestinians has not given Islamic factions anything for the Muslins (and Arabs in general) to be the least bit proud of in the world. Although many Arab people have been working hard to turnaround the unpleasant or unwelcome reputation, the Arab Palestinians have done the exact opposite.
