A Yale-affiliated psychiatrist encouraged LGBTQ+ people whose family members voted for Donald Trump to cut ties and shun their relatives over the upcoming holidays — as fallout from the election reached hysteria on left-leaning MSNBC.

Yale University child psychiatry fellow Dr. Amanda Calhoun dug into the issue of the post-election crises in the LGBTQ+ community with MSNBC’s Joy Reid on Friday night.

“There is a societal push that, if somebody is your family, they are entitled to your time. And I think the answer is absolutely not,” Calhoun said in a clip shared online.

This psychiatrist is giving out bad advice.
She is just a sore loser.
People should never let politics separate themselves from their friends and family.
BTW, Joy Reid is an angry racist cretin.

The advice I would give Trump is to ignore the haters over the next four years. If and when he conducts press conferences and they quote radicals, he should just dismiss them "I have a country to run and helping Americans succeed if they have something positive to contribute they should do so".

It may be a good idea to stay away from relatives with opposing political view points not just for the holidays but for the next six months until all of this dies down. Tempers could flare and bullets could spray, so just keep some distance for now.

Send that family member a jar of this...

If you're that immature ya prolly shouldn't vote
It's not that people are immature it is about empathy. They are in pain and hurting. I voted for Trump, but I do understand the pain from the other side.

I'm an independent conservative, and my mother is generational liberal. We talked on the phone today and no one said anything political. I would not feed into the pain she may already be feeling.

For once we agree .
I shall be delighted , and amazed , if matters do not escalate exponentially into violence and madness . For a time .

Unfortunately you can rarely "Progress" until "Emotional Release" has occurred .

That sword could cut both ways.
Amen to this. Those who choose to wash their hands hard enough are only going out of their way to let everyone else be aware of how the game is played. What they sadly may never get is that in a game like this one, there may not be a winner ever. :( :( :(

God bless you always!!!
