They used Davy for a pincushion with their bayonets.

He was ordered executed after his capture. There may have been as many as half a dozen murdered this way. Another two or three may have escaped in the pre-dawn darkness during the assault.

back in the 80s, ozzy got busted for taking a wizz on it.

just a little FYI i thought i'd contribute...

carry on.
A $40 fine?

He got off too easy

He could still preform his music that night after the tar and feathering

I visited once. It's a shame how all the businesses grew up around it. They could have, at least, left a few acres open in front of it so a visitor could imagine and get the feel for what it was like.

Two ways to do that.
1. Visit the old movie site (was around not sure about now).
2. More easily take the 5 mission tour. Alamo De Bexar was just one mission along the river in that area. The others are more distant and you get a much better understanding. PLus they are way cool.

A foolish waste of lives. Col. Travis was probably influenced by Jackson's victory at New Orleans against all odds. Sam Houston was more perceptive and ordered Travis to get his men out of that trap.
