This fool stated that he can turn on a big water faucet in the Pacific Northwest to send water to California. . He thinks he can divert water from the Collumbia rIver to LA. I lived in Portland, where the Columbia runs into the Willamette. Trump is taking crazy. Now watch the cult members try telling everyone that is not what Trump said. Or try explaining what he meant. Donald Trump is a 78 year old man who says he is smart and has the best words. He doesn't need to have what he says explained.

Trump calls for opening ‘very large faucet’ in PNW to send water to California

Though it wasn’t widely reported in United States media, earlier this month, former President Donald Trump made a suggestion about dealing with California’s drought and wildfire crises that apparently involved diverting water from the Columbia River.

In a press conference held in a suburb of Los Angeles at his Trump National Golf Course, the Republican presidential nominee spoke on a variety of topics. But toward the end of the session, a reporter asked a question about the president’s thoughts about coping with California wildfires, as well as other natural disasters around the country.

Trump talked about an idea for bringing more water into California, and said, “You have millions of gallons of water pouring down from the north, with the snow caps in Canada and all pouring down, and they have essentially a very large faucet,” adding that all of that water goes “aimlessly” into the Pacific Ocean, “and if they turned it back, all of that water would come right down here and right into Los Angeles.”

In a report on Canada’s CTV News, reporter Tyler Barrow interviewed Tricia Stadnyk, an environmental engineering professor at the University of Calgary, who said Trump was apparently referring to the Columbia River, which starts in British Columbia, and runs through Washington state and Oregon before ending up in the Pacific Ocean.

“We can’t just be taking water and diverting it and sending it somewhere else,” Stadnyk said. “Besides that, every time that we’re asked to do that, it’s a sign that we’re living outside of our means.”

Barrow said, in a voiceover, “Any water diversion, she added, would also have everlasting impacts on the ecosystem, wildlife and humans already dependent upon the water coming from the Columbia River.”

I'm anything but a Trump supporter, but I liken this to his bleach injection comments. Both were said in jest and never meant to be taken seriously, but unfortunately, that's what the media did.

No he did not say that in jest, nor was he joking about the disinfectant. Don't blme themedi, they just reported wht he said. He is videotaped, he was not laughng or smiing when he said that. Nobody in the audience got the joke. That's because there was no joke.

LOL you Assclowns were shilling for senile Joe until Trump thumped his ass so hard in the debate you have to drop him like a sack of potatoes.

California has a major water problem, they need to figure something out to get more water.

Desalination plants are extremely expensive and terrible for the environment. Better find another way. At least President Tump is thinking about it. Your dumb Governor Newsom certainly hasn’t solved the problem.

Wiser people than I have observed for many years that the Media treat Trump "literally, but not seriously."

Trump made an off-hand comment about the CONCEPT OF DIVERTING WATER from areas where it is plentiful to areas where it is in short supply. There is no cogent American who has not had that same thought at various times as we read about the water and wildfire issues in SoCal and other similar locales.

So you go to an expert to analyze his casual comment and s/he says it's not practical.

And on the basis of this ridiculous set of events, you suggest that a man who was quite a successful President already, is not suited for the Presidency.

Gimme a motherfukkin' break!

Nobody win that debate. And trump doesn't have the solution.

The comment was not off hand and if Biden said it, you scumbags would be talking about his seniity. So take your excuses somewhere else.

Trump knows better people to get things done. Perhaps Starliner will be fixed as one of thousands of issues we have that need fixing.

There was not even an intimation to inject bleach, or Lysol.

He asked if there was anything injectable that had the disinfecting action of ultraviolet light...Although fucking silly question as a stand-alone, nowhere near injecting bleach.

Yeah, Fresh water is more valuable than oil, especially when you don't have any. I don't see any reason on God's green earth they couldn't build a water pipeline or two from rainy Washington or Oregon down to SoCal.

But wait, wait, wait, why not just use desalinized ocean water powered by a micro-nuke?

Plenty of options. So what if your water bill doubles or triples? Oh, wait, that's political because they're afraid people would blame them for the cost increase of their chosen lifestyle. To me, it seems more like the "leadership" wants to keep people from getting resources they need: they're easier to control when they are starving and dehydrated.

IQ2 forgot that Trump WAS President and the BEST President in recent history. He will first restore order and stability and then proceed to make America Great Again. Your candidate wants to turn America into Venezuela 2.0.

Washington is as dry in many places. Why wouldn't that State come up with such a brilliant Trump idea?

Central Oregon is a desert, but we must divert water from the Columbia and by pass Central Oregon to get water to LA.
