Eric Clapton Love don't love nobody

The sign of pain is on my face
When a heartbeat stopped
I won't take the blame, no, no, no
'Cause I gave her all the love I had within
My love was strong
Something went wrong, yeah
It takes a fool to learn (yes sir)
That love don't love nobody (love, love, love, love, love, love)
It takes a fool to learn (yes it does, girl)
That love don't love no one (that love don't love no one)

The Spinners - Love Don't Love Nobody

Yep...

Dante's Blues @ The USMB Cave

It's three miles to the river
That would carry me away
And two miles to the dusty street
That I saw you on today
It's four miles to my lonely room
Where I'm going to hide my face
And about half a mile to the downtown bar
That I ran from in disgrace

Eric Clapton - River Of Tears

Lyrics

Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight
Song by James Taylor ‧ 1972

Do me wrong
Do me right
Tell me lies, but hold me tight
Save your goodbyes for the morning light
But don't let me be lonely tonight

Say goodbye and say hello
Sure it's good to see you and it's time to go
Don't say "Yes", but please don't say "No"
I don't want to be lonely tonight

Go away then, damn you
Go on and do as you please
Darling, you ain't gonna see me gettin' down on my knees
I'm undecided and yes, and your heart it's been divided
You've been turning my world upside down you know, know

So do me wrong, but do me right, right now baby
Go on and tell me lies, but hold me tight
And save your goodbyes for the morning light
But don't let me be lonely tonight

I don't wanna
No
Please don't let be lonely
I don't wanna be lonely tonight

I don't wanna be lonely tonight
No, no

Songwriters: James Taylor / Graeme Clark / Marti Pellow / Tommy Cunningham / Neil Mitchell

The sun is filled with ice and gives no warmth at all
The sky was never blue
Stars are raindrops searching for a place to fall
And I never cared for you

Willie Nelson - I Never Cared For You

In the chilly hours and minutes
Of uncertainty, I want to be
In the warm hold of your loving mind

To feel you all around me
And to take your hand, along the sand
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind

When sundown pales the sky
I want to hide a while, behind your smile
And everywhere I'd look, your eyes I'd find

For me to love you now
Would be the sweetest thing
That would make me sing
Ah, but I may as well, try and catch the wind

When rain has hung the leaves with tears
I want you near, to kill my fears
To help me to leave all my blues behind

For standin' in your heart
Is where I want to be, and I long to be
Ah, but I may as well, try and catch the wind

Ah, but I may as well, try and catch the wind

Songwriters: Donovan Leitch

Donovan- Catch The Wind

What does it all mean? In my life since childhood, I've always felt the blues, and have experienced it as some sort of cathartic experience.

As time goes by, and as I age, and as the grim reaper seems to be waiting right around the corner as opposed to being in the shadows...

Perceptions change as much as the weather changes.
