I saw this leather sheath in a gun shop junk box and asked what it was for.....The owner did not know and said I could have it if I wanted it.

I thought it would be great to use to make sheaths for a couple Mora blades I had so I took it home.

I got to looking at it and thought it too well made/marked so I posted it on another form and a member said it was a Chinese Civil War era ('45-'49) sheath to fit either a Brit P1907 bayonet or an Arisaka bayonet.....He was right!

I happened to have a Siamese contract P-1907 bayonet without a sheath....Perfect fit!

I guess the Finn blades will have to wait for their leather. ;)

LOL, seriously I'm not a weapons person but you find and clean up/restore some cool stuff.

Yeah, I had been holding on to it in case I ever found a Siamese tiger marked SMLE.

They both have the cool "Grinning Tiger" stamped on them.

Sadly the bayonets are a lot more common than the rifles.
