So, when did it become racist to show how patriotic you feel for your country? I call it passion.
If you believe these kids were chanting 'USA' out of a sense of patriotism, you're a damned fool.

Speak for yourself. My wife is from Scotland and my family is from Greece.
I don't fly an American flag, but I've had one on my uniform for 20 years now.
Flying a flag does not mean you're proud of or not proud of a country, it just means you're flying a flag.
Have you ever worn the uniform of the US?
Some people have a peculiar idea of what patriotism really is.
It is patriotic to be a bully about patriotism.
In a corollary, there is an inverse proportion between the size of a politician's flag pin on his lapel and the size of his genitals.

Speak for yourself.
Have you ever worn the uniform of the US?
I have and there are those who do not serve for any number of reasons which does not make them any less proud or patriotic that I am. I had the calling to serve my country out of gratitude for the freedoms and rights it had given me. Indeed, I would not be in the position I am in if I lived in another country. My service to my country included preserving the rights of those who did not serve in the military as well.
Wearing a uniform would be important if we could bring back the Zoot Suit days.
This fight is being fought in the streets and in uniform today means wearing your colors.

Republicans certainly seem to love their rebellion porn, don't they?

Do you not know the difference between rebellion and civil war? Or do you not know that wearing the wrong color is a death sentence is many places? Colors is the modern substitute for uniform.
If you are going to seriously discuss something, then seriously discuss it. Not rely on some fake fall back position that unless you wore a uniform you have no interest in the nation. This isn't Startship Troopers.
I really can't answer that question.
Love it.I don't know. Do you believe lefties are entitled to more than one vote apiece? Do you believe everyone should pull his or her own weight in supporting the country? Do you believe that hiring practices should be colorblind? Do you think one group of Americans should be penalized for doing well, while another group is coddled for failure? We have a Greek and a Scottish flag in our yard.
Am I not loyal to America?
This nation was conceived in liberty and equality. Are we there yet?
I don't believe substituting a bunch of hollow right wing talking points for honest discussion.
If you want to get out of the CEC bubble and discuss things, I'll be happy to oblige, but I'm not talking to Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity through you. Sorry.
I really can't answer that question.
That's an honest answer and I thank you for responding. It's more than we can say for all the flag-waving, super-patriots in this thread.
And, I see that none of them will dare touch the question I asked about MSG Roy Benavidez either.
Lib thirds and their Pali darlings thought that commemorating the Munich massacre at the London Olympics would be racist.
Fucking Political Correctness run amuck.

Agreed. All this what one must do with the flag and where one must put it when has gotten VERY out of hand.

I still need more fyi.
Going out on a limb and assuming that the person who wrote the article is most likely not concerned greatly with patriotism. Picturing the author smirking with glee.
I just scanned a thread about a school in MA that chose to ban the traditional Valentine's Day cards and candy. The students were to make friendship cards for each other--so no one would be left out and all cultures --they have many--would feel respected.
I could go either way with that---February is an emotional month in schools and Valentine's Day always heightened the emotions. March is generally a month when standardized testing begins and keeping the focus on academics is a priority.
I will continue to fly my flag when so moved. Stand up when the national anthem is played and hope that somehow the nation can persevere.

Sure, there is no problem with that. Just respect my right not to. I'll remove a hat in respect but I don't stand unless I already am.
I don't fly a flag. If Iranian dictators can force crowds into their streets to burn US flags, no one can tell me I cannot burn one in protest on my US street.
Do you notice that, for example, Pakistani protesters draw the flag on strips from sheets? They are too impoverished to buy a real one just to burn it.

I certainly do respect your right(s)--regarding the flag or anything else.
Maybe I haven't read your posts correctly---highly possible. You have mentioned patriotism several times.
At times my life is very challenging--and no, I haven't paid much attention to the Pakistani protestors.
