Man killed in Roy officer-involved shooting identified as Jose Calzada, 35.

A 35-year-old man is dead after he was shot by members of Weber Metro SWAT early Tuesday morning.

It happened in the area of 3700 West 5300 South. Around 4 a.m. officers responded to a threat of suicide reported to the Weber County Dispatch via the suicide hotline.

Police say a negotiator from Weber Metro SWAT attempted to negotiate a peaceful end for several hours. Officers from other jurisdictions also responded to assist with the situation.

Police say negotiation was not successful and shots were fired by members of the SWAT team.

The man died of his injuries around 11:15 a.m.

The investigation has been turned over to the Weber County Attorney's Office.

Second article: Man Calls a Suicide Prevention Hotline SWAT Team Shows Up and Kills Him The Free Thought Project

The story of a guy who called the suicide hotline and was shot by the SWAT team. Perfect suicide, if you need one. Though it seems that the guy, in fact, wanted to handle his problems, otherwise why he would have called the hotline…
I might sound cynic in a way, but according to the second article, this is not the first case. Looks like our police need to change their occupation because what they can do perfectly is to help suiciders to end it all.
