Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not far off the mark either. This game was truly revolutionary, yet problems prevented it from getting the attention, and the sales, it deserved.
The game is called Netstorm: Islands at war. And it's a real blast to play.
The game is considered Abandonware, and can be freely downloaded. It's old, but I have no problem running it on windows 7. It still has a loyal fan base, with it's own servers. So check it out. You can download it here.
