Watching it for the first time in so many years I forgot how good it is. Perhaps I didn't ever realize how good it really was though it does include one of my favourite quotes of any movie when De Niro talks about leaving in 90 seconds flat if he feels the heat.

Pacino was overshadowed this movie by Bob, but Pacino has by far the better resume, Glengarry Glen Ross, Scarface, Scent of a Woman, Heat, Godfather, the list is endless.

Heat was definitely a well crafted movie though.

Heat is a masterpiece. I recently found out about LA Takedown. It's also Michael Mann, and some of the dialog is identical to Heat. You can tell the budget wasn't there but it's an entertaining watch if you are a fan of Heat, since it's the same movie without the budget.

Did Bobs character still go back for Wayne Grow or whatever his name was? :)

That to me would have been the easiest choice to make for me, I would have been on that plane and on the way to NZ with girl on my arm. Pride cannot be more powerful than love and peace.

Do you want spoilers or nah? I don't want to ruin it for you.

Edit: And Pride has been more powerful than love and peace MANY MANY times throughout history. So most assuredly it can.

There was one scene that was the most amazing scene!

When they came out of the bank & the gun battle erupted with the cops right in the middle of the city.

Average people are hiding behind cars...automatic weapons fire drilling thru EVERYTHING!

God was that amazing! Stunning!

But he had to shoot his friend & partner in the head (mercy killing) because of waynegrow...how could you just let that go?
In any case...you'll have to watch & find out :D

One of the best crime films ever. Ridley Scott's American Gangster is also excellent.

That film was so good that there are scenes from it that just stick in your head. The cop accidentially banging his rifle butt into the wall of the box truck they were hidden in, causing exasperation from Pacino, is one of them, but there are so many to choose from. The one where he is banging around the television sitting on the kitchen counter in the ex wifes house is another.

It wasn't 2 years later that something close to the movie happened in the same city.
