This would not be happening if Harris had won instead of Trump

LA’s bustling ports hit by Trump tariffs: ‘Everyone in the US will feel this’

"Southern California may be known for celebrities and glitz, but the true action has long been about 40 miles away from Hollywood, in a place where high-visibility coveralls and hardhats dominate.

"For the past 25 years, the San Pedro Bay port complex – comprising the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach – has been the celebrity of the shipping world and an economic driver of California’s huge economy.

"The busiest seaport in the western hemisphere and one of the busiest in the world, approximately 15,000 longshore workers usually pull shifts around the clock, moving billions of dollars’ worth of cargo in cars, agriculture, auto parts, toys, clothes and furniture."

More than 70% of the port workforce live within a ten mile radius of the port complex, and they will get hit first by the slowdown; however, one in every five jobs in southern California is tied to the ports will eventually feel the pain of Trump tariffs.

China sells its products in countries other than America.
Yes

But those markets are already saturated with chinese products

And now trump is clamping down on transshipments to avoid US tariffs

The Soviet Union was our existential enemy with tens of thousands of nuclear weapons pointed at us and more tanks and soldiers ready to roll across Europe than the west had.

Then one day, it all went..., poof. First the iron curtain fell with a whimper, then when the military tried to forcibly replace Gorbachav, the entire Soviet Russia state turned out to be a house of cards that simply collapsed.

Will Communist China end the same way? Hard to say.

What more is there to say?
Trump has China by the gonads. For decades, China has invested trillions of dollars positioning themselves as making the whole rest of the world dependent on them as a centralized global supplier of everything in order to finance military development through stolen technology. There are riots everywhere, factories are closing, and 10 million could easy lose their jobs with some estimates upward of 50-100 million.

There is simply no way China can outlast us. The only thing holding China up right now is sheer pride in their refusal to admit defeat and come to the table to negotiate with Trump, and it is a win-win for us (or a lose-lose for them) because either way, with fair trade, the importation of large quantities of zero-tariff American goods still spells a severe contraction of their economy.

Trump is keeping his campaign promise
Pretty much the only president in my lifetime to do so, the reason why so many support him. In contrast to all these "professional" politicians, Trump stands alone. If Trump succeeds even in only 50% of what he is trying to do, he will go down in history as one of our greatest presidents and should both get a Nobel prize and his face put up on Mt. Rushmore.

If you swallowed your propaganda, sure.

How many Americans have made a decision (maybe even an unrealized one) to avoid chi-com products?

I'd not even call it a boycott but a realization that China is not our friend and if we must get something from overseas then buy from someplace else.

When you say china I think we mean the Mao CCP dictatorship that has ruled mainland china since 1949

I think Xi is finished

But the communist dictatorship under a new strongman or a small group hanging onto power?

Who knows?
