If Orban has to choose between Brussels and Moscow, I wouldn't blame him if he chose Moscow.

The EU has relentlessly pushed endless immigration into various countries despite the local populations being against it. I don't think Moscow would be as insistent on that.

Well, frankly, I don't know if it's Orban's decision to make. He wields a lot of influence over Hungary, obviously, but the sovereignty of each EU nation is somewhat diminished when considering what powers Brussels has over each member. Hungary could potentially have a Brexit of its own, but they'd probably want to join some sort of union with another group like BRICS, since they are a small economy.

As for the US... NATO doesn't look like it's going away, even if it would financially benefit the US at this point. NATO made sense during the Cold War, but all it does now is push a lot of Europe's defense off onto the US. The EU should increase the size of its militaries, so that it doesn't have to depend on the US, and the US should get out of NATO, since we're already in immense debt.

My guess is that it would partially be up to if Brussels lets them leave. The UK was able to leave of its own accord because of its power. The UK is a much larger nation, so Brussels couldn't do much about it. Hungary is somewhat subject to the whims of the rest of the EU. Orban is only supporting what most of the Hungarian public supports.

Not really. If you look at what most Hungarians support, they don't like the immigration policies that have been pushed, and they don't like being involved in the Ukrainian conflict. They're not the only EU nation with a public tired of this as well.

I'm not saying it was right for Putin to invade, but it was predictable. Putin had already warned what would happen if NATO membership was offered to Ukraine. NATO called what they thought was his bluff, but it turned out not to be a bluff.

Now, working class Europeans are dealing with high energy prices and inflation due to spending on Ukraine. It's a hard sell for someone just trying to pay their bills.
