UPS plans to close around 200 US facilities, shift volume to automated hubs
The company is consolidating locations as part of its "Network of the Future" initiative, which aims to reduce its labor needs and save $3 billion by 2028.
Looks like this has been going on since March.....They closed the in-person service center in my AO a couple of months ago and closed the Hub over the past weekend and moved the operation to the next country over.
I don't think anyone lost their job.....A few part timers maybe....I suspect the town will take a bit of a tax hit.
It was high time they closed the Hub as it has been in town since the late 70s I guess and it was very congested.
The only change I can see is I doubt I'll get my packages as early now as the Hub was just a half-mile away.
