Looks like this has been going on since March.....They closed the in-person service center in my AO a couple of months ago and closed the Hub over the past weekend and moved the operation to the next country over.

I don't think anyone lost their job.....A few part timers maybe....I suspect the town will take a bit of a tax hit.

It was high time they closed the Hub as it has been in town since the late 70s I guess and it was very congested.

The only change I can see is I doubt I'll get my packages as early now as the Hub was just a half-mile away.
 
I bet the large reason for this is Amazon. Amazon figured out a few years ago that shipping via UPS was eating a hole in their shorts (because they eat the cost of shipping if your order is big enough) so they responded by creating their own shipping network cutting UPS out of the loop.

Big loss for UPS.
 
Ups workers work hard for a very low wage.
