. . . What will he do?

Reuters claims all Trump’s cases will be “brought to a halt.

Yet Trump has a sentencing date this month and it’s up to the European-looking Merchan to decide what to do.

I have no doubt that if this election were very close, if Trump won by hair, Merchan would have been pressured to sentence Trump to something in order to give this Democrats Senate a reason not to confirm him.

But with this effective landslide, what is merchan to do?

Trump has to play this smartly.
His best bet is to be cooperative and polite. Let the animal bare its teeth and show its identity.
It's going to be difficult for them to keep up the premise that these are righteous prosecutions. There is an enormous opportunity here for Trump to gain tremendous political capital.... It will be fueled by the uncontrollable hatred of those who sought to take him down by lawfare. I really don't think they can control themselves.

Pretty sure they are referring to Federal cases, but I'd like to see Merchan try to jail Trump on that phony-baloney case.

I think the NY Appellate court might just fast-track a dismissal to be rid of it.

Smith is finished. The documents and election interference cases are done. He will be looking for a job on January 21.

Hard to predict fat Fani's future, but I don't know how she plans to proceed against Trump now.

Judge in Trump’s New York Criminal Case Considering Tossing His Felony Convictions

The New York judge who oversaw Donald Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan is considering tossing his felony convictions after the former president won Tuesday’s election, CNN reported Wednesday.

CNN chief legal affairs correspondent Paula Reid reported Wednesday evening that Merchan will give himself until next week to decide if tossing those convictions is appropriate.

Looking more and more for all cases, Trump's win is aconvenient way to exit, stage right.

Death of lawfare?

The lawfare will continue unless Trump cleanses federal agencies of Partisan operatives pretending to be public servants.

He must put a person loyal to the voters and therefore to the voters’ choice in charge of all law enforcement and intelligence agencies. He must give them plenary powers to get rid of employees who oppose the American people.

Trump walking on all these charges is the best example that the phrase "no one is above the law" is the biggest crock of shit ever perpetrated on the American people, & the greatest miscarriage of justice in the history of this country.

That coxsucker tried a coup against the American people & the bastard walks away scott free? Something is seroiusly wrong here.

This is what MAGA tolerates? Shamefull.

Nothing sane to add about the fact that your boy tried a coup against the American people & got away with it?

You're in a cult.

Keep parroting Trump's lies even though the facts don't back it up.

Btw, has it occured to you that now that Trump has won he has shut his lying filthy mouth about voter fraud?

Leave the country or face the Board of Inquiry of the DOJ.

Merchan will probably vacate the verdict to save himself the embarrassment of the appellate court reversal.

The show trial failed to serve it's purpose, which was to keep Trump from being re-elected.

There's no reason to continue the charade now, and the election is a good excuse for Merchan to vacate the verdict- he can claim it's not possible to incarcerate a sitting president anyway...

I forgot to check on this case this week.

Merchan has paused all further proceedings including sentencing.

'Extraordinary circumstances': NY judge in Trump case pauses all court deadlines, sentencing

The Manhattan judge overseeing President-elect Donald Trump's trial agreed to grant a stay on all deadlines associated with the felony conviction proceedings against Trump in the final months before he takes office, a closely-watched decision that allows Trump to avoid a maximum sentence of up to four years in prison.

The judge overseeing the case, Judge Juan Merchan, granted the request, which issues a stay on all deadlines, including the Nov. 26 sentencing date, to consider the effect of his election as president.

Prosecutors had asked for the pause in proceedings, which they said would allow them to better evaluate the impact of Trump’s new status as president-elect.

"The People agree that these are unprecedented circumstances," prosecutor Matthew Colangelo said in a letter to Judge Merchan.

Trump's attorneys, who had filed a motion to vacate the charges completely, also backed the stay.

Trump was convicted in May by a Manhattan jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records, stemming from a case about payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels.
