Do you have a favorite? I like The Herd the best, it has far less of the childish antics of these other shows, which is pretty much all the rest out there.

I do watch McAfee from time to time, he can have some good guests on and some of the discussion is pretty good. The only other one I watch frequently other than The Herd is Get Up.

Cowherd starts talking Prog from time to time. He is so out of it when it comes to all people. With him, it is like a half century ago many people did not understand the ghettos thinking everything was fine.

i usually watch the CBS pregame show with James Brown and the gang. I like to see their predictions for the games.

First things first is really good. Speak used to be good as well then they completely gutted it to create the Facility which I also like but oddly isnt as good as Speak. The Herd is a very good show though Colin has gotten a bit too political for my tastes. He seems to be saying "I dont like to get political on my show" a bit too often.

I watch the redskins coach show, it is the only one that isn't biased and just states the facts. Like last week when security made the fans stay and watch the last quarter and wouldn't let them leave.

The absolute best one ever was Joel Buchsbaum. My brothers would listen to KTRH back in the day and I would usually be cooking the tacos and pico. The thing about Buchsbaum was that he was pre-internet and had one gig, Pro Football Weekly. I can’t find any audio (forget about Video) of the guy but he sounded like Arnold Horshach from Welcome Back Kotter.

There was no player that was on anyone’s draft board that would get by him. Someone would call in and ask, “Who should the Los Angeles Raiders take in the later rounds” and he would name five or six players who would dependably go in the later rounds. Its worth pointing out that this was pre-internet. And even so, he was faster than any computer...he had all of this data off the top of his head.

Here are a few of the stories from a guy named Tom Franklin who used to host a sports talk show in Houston with Jerry Trupiano (I think he is the voice of the Red Sox right now).

Nobody except football fans from the 80’s and 90’s will get this but my favorite Buchsbaum story was this; someone called up and asked about this quarterback who had a great freshman year but had gotten injured a time or two and now was going to be a mid-round flier. Buchsbaum--in the Horsach voice--said something along the lines of, “Johnny Quarterback of Louisiana Tech, 6’1, 189. Runs a 4-5 40. He can go vertical (make downfield throws) but has trouble on the 10 yard outs”. Then he would get to the health issues.... “When it comes to durability, he’s no Bert Jones.” Ouch.

From Wikipedia (for those who don’t remember Bert).

The remainder of Jones's playing career beyond 1977 was curtailed by several injuries, the first of which was a separated shoulder after a hit from Al Baker in a Colts' 13–7 win over the Detroit Lions at the Pontiac Silverdome on August 26, 1978, in the final preseason contest for both teams.[10]

During an October 26, 1980, game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Jones made NFL history when he was sacked a record 12 times. This broke the record at the time held by many quarterbacks, including Jones's then back-up, Greg Landry, who had been sacked 11 times while he was a member of the Detroit Lions in a game against the Dallas Cowboys on October 6, 1975.[11]

In 1982, his final season, Jones played in four games for the Los Angeles Rams before a neck injury forced him to retire.

Also, it was hilarious hearing Joel talk about Jeremiah Trotter just because of the accent.

Lemme throw a shout out for Breakfast Ball on FS1.

Love some Mark Schlereth, former Redskin and Bronco leader (lineman I believe) and longtime ESPN personality who is now on FOX. Pretty decent cast, the other player regular is Greg Jennings, former Packer WR with Brett Favre.

As a bettor I like shows that have discussion on lines and such and this one does from time to time. Good discussion, although the colorful bald headed guy is too excitable.

I barely watch football, let alone these shows. Many are contrived, with a bunch of fake shouting designed to get people worked up. Give me Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson on a Saturday afternoon of college football any day.

Years ago I never missed "Cold Pizza," now "1st Take!" Now I barely surf by the show the commentary is so insufferable! Glad they're punishing Molly after her Caitlin Clark "hating!" "Undisputed" was halfway watchable w/ Sharp & Skip, but they were doomed w/ so little respect from one another! That day where Bayless lost his mind attacking his co-host made it easy to finally cancel the whole show! Bayless looked like a fish gasping & flopping around w/ Pierce, Johnson, & Irvin! So glad they just fired him! I can handle the Fox Sports shows like The "The Faculty, First Things First," & "Speak," but it's not "must see" TV like it used to be even w/ the NFL underway! So often I'll just watch a clip d/l to You Tube to save time & energy! :dunno: :stir::meow::oops: :nono:

You're spot on there, Speak was better than The Facility. The change, thus far, seems to be missing something the old show had.

Been watching "Inside The NFL" every week since it's first episode in 1977.
I might have to give that show a try sometime, they have had so many different people on it over the years that I don't know who will be on it. I think I saw Jay Cutler on it once, which should never be allowed to happen on a sports talk show.

They've had lots of different hosts due to how long the show has run, but youre right, watching Jay Cutler on there was torturous.

I preferred the years when Len Dawson , Nick Buonoconti and Chris Collingsworth were there the most.

Which is odd because it’s essentially the same group minus Joy. Speak is now terrible. Paul Pierce is a great basketball player but an awful tv personality

Blame it on Skip! He needed someone to sit in a seat across from him when "Undisputed" was still on! They probably have already paid the guy & they want to get their $$'s worth out of him! :nono: :stir:

Paul Pierce wasn’t on undisputed.

First Take with Stephen A Smith

I really liked Keyshawn, JWill and Max and I don't like the guys who replaced them especially this guy. Who the fuck is he? Why do these shows always have one guy who's not a great athlete?

Same with on Stephen A Smith's show.

Who's this fat boy? He seems very knowledgeable but can't they find a retired athlete I know?
