I'll estimate two generations ago.

My generation was the last generation to grow up with morals and standards, and the first generation to taste ZERO responsibility. If I'd had children, they and their children would have been leftist cult nothings who believed they were owed a trophy just for showing up.

There is definitely a generational change in attitude. My "kids" (adults) are better educated and self sufficient but even they have a much different attitude towards work than our generation. That "work-life" balance thing is really big with the younger folks.

How are they going to pay dearly? Secure borders is paying dearly? Not sending outrageous amounts of money to Ukraine is paying dearly. Is being able to walk in a large city at night without being a victim of crime paying dearly? I am ready to pay, not dearly but gladly.
