Just as I predicted two years ago that Biden would not be renominated, I am now predicting that President Trump will retire after the 2026 elections. He is still mentally sharp and energetic, but time stands still for no one. He has already cemented his unique place in American history, and his initiatives will be well on their way to fruition.

However he will turn 80 years old next year, and he certainly doesn't want to repeat Biden's (or Reagan's) decline. Actually, his early retirement would represent another patriotic feather in his cap by demonstrating his commitment to country over personal benefit. If the GOP retains control of Congress in 2026, he would then be feted as one of America's greatest Presidents. If the Dems regained control, his departure would rob them of another demented attempt to remove him from office. Either way, he would go out as a winner.

Trump is going pretty strong and shows no sign of slowing down

Nah.... Though it's a pretty good idea. He will never give up that control willingly.

Reagan did not decline as president. This is a Democrat song is all. Reagan was impacted well after he left office. Same thing happened to my ex wife. She was remarried at the time but I saw her 1 xmas and she was sharp. The following Xmas she had signs of Alzheimer's. And it ended up killing her.

No.

Next question!

I am 86 and have no signs of diminished brain power. Not all who get to be 80 have such problems. It worried me after seeing my ex-wife come down with Alzheimer's but I am pretty fortunate. Frankly I expect JD Vance to take over since he and Trump are on the same team totally.

Donald Trump is a machine. His energy is unmatched by any President I can remember. My only concern is his diet is terrible and he needs to drop some pounds. But I'm sure his doctors are keeping a close eye on things.

King Trump already told us that JD isn't his successor.

A king has his best son as his successor, and that would be none other than Prince Baron of course.

Long live the king!

The only way Trump doesn't complete his term is if he strokes out.

And then we'll have to deal with the inevitable conspiracy theories.

"George Soros spiked Trump's Big Mac!"

Will you prove he said that about JD? That sounds unbelievable. Trump was asked if He views JD as his successor and he said no. Why say that? Because the press would paint Trump as worse than arrogant.

I view JD Vance as his successor.

I have read about the meals Trump eats daily and they are not hamburgers. He easily can afford the finest cuisine.

I agree, but even machines wear out. I already notice him ageing, and his breakneck pace will add to that. I am concerned about his making it through the next two years, let alone to 2029. Besides, his retirement would pave the way for Vance to carry on his policies..

I have already been pleased and amazed at the tasks Vance has successfully carried out. He is a winner.

There's a reason the man is obese.

Another? Did he get one when he tried to steal the 2020 election, when he shared classified information with guests at MAL, when he turned his back on the ally he tried to extort, when he aligned himself with our enemy? Does he get one for weakening the country in too many ways to count? You forget, his actions are those of a traitor, not a patriot.
