I don't have any inside information only experience. My guess is that the Salvation Army is legit but some charities aren't. What do you think?

I am a huge fan of St. Jude's but stopped giving to them unless it is at a checkout option because when you do, you get inundated with crap from them and other charities. Unfortunate since I would give to them regularly but for them sharing all your info with everybody on the planet.

My family has a history of supporting SA that I maintained until they jumped on the woke train a couple years ago. They will have to prove that they are not political for a while before I will be donating to them again. I am partial to UGM at the moment. We also support the food banks in our county. Shriners Hospital is always on the list.

.

I give a regular monthly donation to a pro-life maternity home, and I'll double my monthly donation for the holiday.

I also give a monthly donation to the local food pantry and will likewise, double it for the holiday.

I also donate handmade rosaries to a couple of convents, who sell them in their gift shops.

Yeah, I lost some love for SA over that.

I forgot about UGM. Maybe I'll call and ask about how to donate there. Thanks for the reminder.

It seems that St. Jude does good things but the current funding is about donating 19 dollars out of your credit card every month until you die. I'm reluctant to make that kind of commitment. Does St. Jude promise they will never sell your personal information?

Tunnels to Towers seems like a reasonable donation but it seems that while T-T supports physically impaired Veterans is also required by Biden federal law to support mentally impaired Veterans who never saw combat. Unless they make that distinction they don't get my bucks.

Years ago when I made a bet online the loser would have to donate to the winners favorite charity. At the time my charity was RAINN.

DAV is about supporting Veterans who have been injured mostly in motorcycle accidents.
I am a DAV. I don't get anything from them, nor do I need it, but I hadn't heard anything about this motorcycle claim. I thought they supported veterans that were disabled from service-connected causes.

Not necessarily service connected claims. Read the fine print.

Charities are a great career move if you are just an average person .
As more and more people realise that you can cruise to the top , if you are a good actor , the scams and lies will just get more and more .

A bit like taking Economics and Sociology as part of your University entrance CV .
A dull average person can get great marks if you know how to shovel pig shit without getting it on your own clothes .

They are building community hotels, that will house many of those veterans who were left out by their wonderous VA, those that have been stuck with PTSD. I hope the VA gets RU486, and the funding gets into the hands of the private sector who will do a lot more of good than the failure of VA.

Homeless Veteran Program - Tunnel to Towers Foundation
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to ending veteran homelessness nationwide. We honor the sacrifice and dignity of the American Service Member by ensuring that no veteran is left out on the streets of the country they volunteered to defend.
