Yet another incident showing trump to be unfit.

There are hundreds. So many, some of the more glaring ones get lost in the shuffle. I had mostly forgotten about it but was reminded of it by the recent documentary, "From Russia with Lev."

A recording obtained by ABC News appears to capture President Donald Trump telling associates he wanted the then-U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch fired while speaking at a small gathering that included Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman -- two former business associates of Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani who have since been indicted in New York.

The recording appears to contradict statements by Trump and support the narrative that has been offered by Parnas during broadcast interviews in recent days. Sources familiar with the recording said the recording was made during an intimate April 30, 2018, dinner at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Trump has said repeatedly he does not know Parnas, a Soviet-born American who has emerged as a wild card in Trump’s impeachment trial, especially in the days since Trump was impeached.

"Get rid of her!" is what the voice that appears to be Trump’s is heard saying. "Get her out tomorrow. I don't care. Get her out tomorrow. Take her out. OK? Do it."

Igor Fruman, one of the men who would be sent to Ukraine at trump's direction to dig up dirt on the Biden's, recorded the conversation at the dinner. Fruman and his associate, Lev Parnas, were trying to buy an Ukrainian energy company that had put itself up for sale. But they felt they needed to get US ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, out of the way. So at the dinner (BTW..Parnas and Fruman were known to have ties to the Russian mafia but here they were consorting with trump) Parnas baselessly accused Yovanovitch of bad mouthing trump who immediately told staff to have her fired.

Lev Parnas, an associate of Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, talks with Rachel Maddow in an exclusive interview about the difficulty Donald Trump had getting someone in his administration to fire the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, ultimately adopting a smear campaign to help cover her dismissal.

Ousted ambassador gives deeply personal account of firing by Trump

There's a lot to unpack here. trump consorting with Ukrainian criminals........then lying about knowing them. trump having Parnas and Fruman sent to dig up dirt on Joe and his kid (culminating with trump's extortion of Zelensky to announce an investigation in to the Biden's). trump routinely checking with Giuliani about Lev and Igor's progress. Giuliani feeding false info to Faux which would immediately be broadcast in order to smear the Biden's for trump's electoral benefit.

As with all the other disqualifying incidents trump was up to his eyeballs in, this one is also dismissed by The Following. Denying/downplaying it by way of a variety of methods. Mostly by refusing the accept the facts and the sworn testimony of dozens of witnesses.

Because once they admit to themselves the reporting on this incident is accurate, it opens a can of worms that can't be closed. Accepting the truth of this story not only disqualifies trump as a candidate for the presidency, it creates a domino affect giving credibility to all the other incidents they have denied. And as we know, the truth is not their friend.
Yawn. January 25, 2020

The vast majority of witnesses, Repubs who were chosen to serve in the admin, gave first hand accounts of what they saw. Like this guy.........

.......who testified about trump's attempt to name willing sycophant Jeffrey Clark acting AG.

First hand accounts of nothing…hence why the Jan 6th committee used rumors on their prime time special that nobody really watched

The committee was an embarrassment

It was literally a poorly produced infomercial -no probative value whatsoever.

As soon as Nancy refused to seat the Minority's congresscritters, rational people stopped paying any attention to the their partisan nonsense.

Yeah, we know. You get paid for smearing Trump.

Hillary all over again.

Newsflash: she's still the most hated woman in America.

Actually, the recording proves trump is just a liar. His claims of not knowing parnus was a flat out, intentional, lie.

How did TRUMP know Parnus? Keep in mind democrats accepted Biden noting knowing people associated with Hunter that Joe was pictured playing golf with.
Either way no one cares.

trump ordered the firing of Ambassador Yovanovitch based on a lie he was told by Lev Parnas. That's the kind of thing the person you guys are going to vote for does.

Republicans Block Impeachment Witnesses, Clearing Path for Trump Acquittal

WASHINGTON — The Senate brought President Trump to the brink of acquittal on Friday of charges that he abused his power and obstructed Congress, as Republicans voted to block consideration of new witnesses and documents in his impeachment trial and shut down a final push by Democrats to bolster their case for the president’s removal.

In a nearly party-line vote after a bitter debate, Democrats failed to win support from the four Republicans they needed. With Mr. Trump’s acquittal virtually certain, the president’s allies rallied to his defense, though some conceded he was guilty of the central allegations against him.

The Democrats’ push for more witnesses and documents failed 49 to 51, with only two Republicans, Mitt Romney of Utah and Susan Collins of Maine, joining Democrats in favor. A vote on the verdict is planned for Wednesday.

As they approached the final stage of the third presidential impeachment proceeding in United States history, Democrats condemned the witness vote and said it would render Mr. Trump’s trial illegitimate and his acquittal meaningless.

Lev Parnas was one of the witnesses Repubs absolutely did not want to testify because he knew so much. He knew all about the efforts to get the Ukrainian government to investigate the Biden's. He had meetings with major players in Ukraine including Zelensky's chief of staff. All at Giuliani's direction who was threatening Ukrainian officials with the withdrawal of aid.

In the end, Zelensky refused to meet with Giuliani so trump told Pence, who was scheduled to go to Zelensky's inauguration, not to go. It was about that time Lev and Igor were arrested on illegal campaign contribution charges.

The Real Backstory to the Arrest of Two Ukrainian-American Trump Donors

The stunning arrest of Igor Fruman and Lev Parnas on criminal campaign finance charges arose directly from Campaign Legal Center’s (CLC’s) complaint to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on this matter last year—and underscores the key roles these mysterious Rudy Giuliani associates with ties to Ukraine and big money have played in setting into motion a year-long influence effort.

In July 2018, CLC uncovered how the Soviet-born Parnas and Fruman laundered six-figure contributions to President Trump’s super PAC through a shell corporation.

CLC’s complaint with the FEC helped trigger a series of revelations showing how the pair leveraged the access their contribution had afforded to deepen their connections with figures close to the president.

The federal indictment charges Parnas and Fruman with conspiring to violate campaign finance law’s straw donor ban and foreign national contribution ban. And they were charged with two counts of lying to the FEC when responding to the allegations in CLC’s complaint.

Tweetable quote:As the indictment describes, Parnas and Fruman engaged in this big money scheme to “buy potential influence with candidates, campaigns, and the candidates' governments.”

They used the access that their illegally laundered contributions afforded to promote and propel the same theories about Ukraine, the U.S. ambassador, and the Biden family that President Trump espoused in his July 25, 2019 call with Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky. Working closely with the president’s personal attorney, Giuliani, their efforts touched two branches of U.S. government, two presidential administrations in Ukraine, at least five countries, numerous individuals in and out of government, and, now, an impeachment inquiry into the U.S. president himself.

In the year since the contribution and CLC’s complaint, Parnas and Fruman quickly became major players in Trumpworld, thanks in no small part to the doors that opened following their flurry of political contributions in early 2018.

As the indictment alleges, “Parnas and Fruman, who had no significant prior history of political donations,” began making substantial contributions in early 2018 “with the purpose of enhancing their influence in political circles and gaining access to politicians.”

They’ve used that access to promote at least two major issues in U.S.-Ukraine relations.

First, Parnas and Fruman were central to the ultimately successful campaign to remove the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

Second, the pair connected Giuliani to the Ukrainian political elite—some of whom were pursuing their own political vendettas—in order to advance claims about the Biden family and Ukraine’s alleged role in influencing the 2016 election. These efforts were significant enough to earn Parnas and Fruman an (unnamed) reference in the whistleblower complaint that sounded the alarm bells about the president’s July 25, 2019 call with Zelensky.

The new indictment further underscores the significance of these efforts and spotlights the illegal campaign finance maneuvers that brought them about in the first place.

No one cares what you think.
Yovanovitch was not immediately removed from her posting in Kyiv, but in the months that followed she became a frequent target of criticism among allies of the president, who accused the career diplomat of disloyalty. She was ultimately recalled as ambassador last spring.

Her recall has become a key episode in the pressure campaign against Ukraine that Trump is now on trial for in the Senate following the House's vote to impeach him. On his now-infamous July 25 call with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Trump said of Yovanovitch, "She's going to go through some things."

The ultimate irony is that Marie Yovanovitch, a woman dedicated to eradicating corruption in Ukraine on behalf of the US, was recalled due to corruption in the US. Recalled by a corrupt prez because of his failure to corrupt Zelensky.

Followed by trump's corruption of the Repubs in the US Senate who turned a blind eye to the overwhelming evidence and protected their Dear Leader. What a tremendous opportunity for the country to rid ourselves of a traitor.
