I've always been impressed by modelers who make dioramas, they do such an amazing job with the painting alone, to say nothing of building the diorama. In this particular instance, this is the famous warship U.S.S. Missouri, on which the Japanese surrendered and presently sits as a tourist attraction in Pearl Harbor. Stranglely enough, every time I've visited this battlehsip the crowd was about 80% Japanese. The dent in the battlehsip from this plane striking the side remains.
This pilot was thrown from his plane and his body landed on the deck. He was given a burial at sea with full military honors, as was custom for Japanese pilots who were recovered by the U.S. Navy. And the last pic. is a reminder that shit happens.
