Why are so many jerks infiltrating and destroying gaming communities and fan communities with their political bullshit?

Because these communities didn’t gatekeep hard enough to keep these fake fan jerkasses out, that’s part of it, but the other part is ESG bullshit covering companies who go woke so they don’t go broke when they tell their loyal customers they hate them and don’t want their money anymore.

So the idea that these communities were all hhhhhhhhHHHHHWHYTTTTTTTT SUPREMACISTS is of course, obviously bullshit, and the correct thing to do to these appropriators, these hostile invaders, is to say hey, if you like the thing and you want to assimilate to the community, and shut up about your real world politics we come here to play to escape, then maybe you’ll be welcome. Otherwise, get the fuck out, we aren’t changing for the newcomer who doesn’t respect the thing we adore (adored) in the first place and wants something entirely different and wants to berate everyone in the fandom for not kowtowing.

Plenty of good YouTube channels available to discuss the corruption and fall of Star Wars, Star Trek, D&D, Warhammer, video game companies etc, especially video game “journalism.” This guy is not one of them.

I was playing Hogwarts Legacy the other day - itself some massive transgression to wokescolds who want JK Rowling cancelled, even though she is a radical leftist, and tolerant of trannies, just recognizes that men shouldn’t be in women’s prisons and the like - and I was like… huh.

Victorian England a decade and change before WWI, very few white British characters, we’ve got a Japanese professor, a Ugandan professor… you’ve got an open lesbian couple and a transgender bar owner. No one says aaannything disparaging. We don’t even have fake Wizard racism, no “mudblood” this or that either. So basically super cosmopolitan and egalitarian, more “progressive” than in the Harry Potter books set in the 1990s. It’s kind of jarring, breaks the immersion, and actually a bit boring - this is Victorian England, yet you’d never know it. And you can’t just say wizards were always “woke,” because Voldemort’s brand had always been a thing.

Just creates this bland samey everywhere is modern LA feel.

The Professor actually addressed this "go woke go broke" fallacy and disproves it.

In fact, he doesn't even need to, he simply pointed out how that talking point is a myth, they've actually been raking in the dough instead of going broke by being inclusive.
