After Trump destroyed US drilling, Biden had to restart US energy with some SPR. Soon Biden had more US oil production than any president or country in world history. Now 13.3 million US barrels per day.

Now we are the largest petroleum exporter.

Thank you, but as you can see from this chart of US oil production, Trump is the one who greatly expanded production. Biden has had 3-1/2 years, and he's just barely exceeded Trump's record...

1970! Taking us from 10M barrels/day to 13M.

Biden has taken the record from 13M to 13.3M. Very weak.

He could have done much, much better. The infrastructure was already there.

Anyway, what really matters is which President delivered more for the American people, and this can be observed at the pump...

Biden has taken us from ~2.50/gallon to ~$3.50/gallon, and incredible 40% increase.

In the rebound from COVID-19 we needed those reserves. I think Biden did the right thing. In 2020 over 200 US oil companies declared bankruptcy.

He should have ramped domestic drilling production back up instead. The SPR is for national emergencies (such as an oil embargo), not to lower the price at the pump by 20 cents in order to influence an upcoming election.

He announced that he would refill the SPR. He has not done so, and now we are vulnerable to a host of world events.
