Trump asks for $1,000,000,000.00 in donations from the Oil and Gas Industry

Trump pressed oil executives to give $1 billion for his campaign, people in industry say

Former President Donald Trump asked oil industry executives last month to donate $1 billion to aid his campaign to retake the White House, three people familiar with the conversation told POLITICO — a request that campaign finance experts said appeared troubling but is probably legal.

The request, first reported Thursday by The Washington Post, occurred during a meeting of industry executives at the former president’s home in Palm Beach, Florida.

What Trump promised oil CEOs as he asked them to steer $1 billion to his campaign

As Donald Trump sat with some of the country’s top oil executives at his Mar-a-Lago Club last month, one executive complained about how they continued to face burdensome environmental regulations despite spending $400 million to lobby the Biden administration in the last year.

Trump’s response stunned several of the executives in the room overlooking the ocean: You all are wealthy enough, he said, that you should raise $1 billion to return me to the White House. At the dinner, he vowed to immediately reverse dozens of President Biden’s environmental rules and policies and stop new ones from being enacted, according to people with knowledge of the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a private conversation.

Giving $1 billion would be a “deal,” Trump said, because of the taxation and regulation they would avoid thanks to him, according to the people.

I'm guessing many Trumpleton's will head for the hidey hole of denial on this one, calling it fake news. A convenient way to compartmentalize stories that are unflattering to Dear Leader. Down deep they know this sort of shameless grifting and corrupt abuse of power is right up Don's alley.

Well, they can certainly drill and sell more oil if Trump gets elected. :dunno:

Some to the government, even, to replenish what Biden has drained. It's really something that's needed.

if these fat cats paid 400 million to "lobby the biden administration" and did not get what they want that is not biden's fault, is it?

What's needed is a recognition we are producing more oil than ever while the goal should be to lower demand cuz, you know, climate change.

But the point of the post is the open grifting for campaign contributions by a professional conman.

Weird that you never complain about this when a Democrat does it. This is every politician in D.C. What do you think lobbyists are for?

Oil isn't causing climate change. Please keep your religious beliefs out of our government.

Who did not see this coming. P01135809 is the most corrupt president in the history of the United States.

Former President Donald J. Trump told a group of oil executives and lobbyists gathered at a dinner at his Mar-a-Lago resort last month that they should donate $1 billion to his presidential campaign because, if elected, he would roll back environmental rules that he said hampered their industry, according to two people who were there.

About 20 people attended an April 11 event billed as an “energy round table” at Mr. Trump’s private club, according to those people, who asked not to be identified in order to discuss the private event. Attendees included executives from ExxonMobil, EQT Corporation and the American Petroleum Institute, which lobbies for the oil industry.

Remember when all those people said they would vote for Trump because he was incorruptible and did not need the money? Well apparently he does need the money and a lot of it, and is willing to wreak havoc on our environment to get it. No little bucks for Trump. He wants a billion dollars! Those attorney fees must really be adding up.

Out and out selling the White House to the highest bidder,

I'm slowing it down for you.
ONE at a time.

Your first Blue Frame was about the KeyStone XL Pipeline.
You call that Cherry Picking, from information you supplied.
That's why is hard to discuss with you.

So, I'll try again.
KeyStone XL Pipeline, your Blue Frame said it would "Strengthen American Energy Independence"

How?
Please Explain.
It's your talking point, so explain.
