I believe our tax system is grossly unfair to people whose income is earned through the old-fashioned way: they worked for it.

. . . The Canadian system?Given that EVERYWHERE you look in the USA these days, Employers are begging for low skill workers, these people are in very high demand right now. You have 11 million job openings, but why work for $7.25 an hour? $210 for a 40 hour week.
Imagine how much lower your taxes would be if you didn't have to supplement the incomes of low skill workers. In 2012, when Walmart was the second most profitable company in American, it was said that every American taxpayer contributed $2500 to Walmart's bottom line through earned income credits, Medicaid, and food stamps.
Walmart could have given all of their employees $100 a week raise, and still been one of the MOST profitable companies in the USA, just not the second most profitable.
Funny how the same companies who can't afford to pay their American workers a living wage, like McDonalds and Walmart, can afford to pay their Canadian workers $17 per hour minimum wage, and higher corporate taxes, and still manage to be the most profitable companies in Canada.
Wash, rinse and repeat for the European Union, Great Britain, or any other nation in the world where American companies are doing business.
Why do American taxpayers have to subsidize these corporations when they're able to pay their workers a living wage in every other country in the world where they do business - and higher corporate taxes too. How gullible and stupid are you to continue to subsidize the richest people in America????
I like calling a spade a spade and believe that's the way the tax code should regard income. Taxes such as capital gains and inheritance should be done away with. Rid the tax code of millions of words and simply consider income as money received by an individual or couple, minus the direct money they spent to earn that income. Kick in a standard deduction to take care of the usual expenses required to earn a living such as clothes, transportation, etc.
With such a broad tax base a low single tax rate would be possible.

I know it's terrible. The rich do need to pay more of their share so the wealth gets redistributed. More socialism in the USA would be the best thing for America and universal free healthcare. There is that old cliche they will say that if people want to make more money they just need to work harder and move up the food chain. Moving up to better paying jobs is not possible for many workers due to their limitations. A lot of people work two full time jobs and still struggle to make even a livable wage. My wife has worked a full time job at fast food and a 2nd full time job as a housekeeping for years, it still is not enough money to survive she rely's a lot on me and family members for support. Like many Americans moving up the food chain into better paying jobs is not possible for her, she was labelled mentally slow in school by teachers and got all "F"s and "D"'s in high school. There are many Americans who have to work 2-3 jobs just to make enough money to barely survive.
