I just came upon this amazing Hindenburg video that crashed in the 1930's. This was the colorized version and showed the wonderful interior back then and sadly the crash..

The Hindenburg used flammable hydrogen gas because the US had embargoed helium from being sold to Germany. Otherwise, this disaster would not have occurred.

With the Nazi symbols on it, no wonder it crashed.

Why did the Hindenburg tragedy end the era of the lighter than air industry? Surely they could have delt with the issues just as the plane industry did. Maybe it had something to do with the political issues of the time.
