400 Fired From DHS

I doubt there is a lot of fat to trim at the IRS. Trump basically just fired people who had yet to be hired under the Biden scheme.

Anyway, he is not going to balance the budget off the current plan. He isn't even going to cut enough to offset making his tax cuts permanent. It is why they still want a $4T increase in the debt ceiling.
Not true....
The latest budget proposed has up to 5 trillion in cuts (some have triggers)

Then there's the cuts DOGE is making.
There's another 3-5 trillion.

That's 8-10 trillion cut from the budget before the first 90/100 days in office.

I call that a slash of the budget by a third. That ought to do something.

When will Trump cut the fat from his over-bloated White House staff? He doesn't need a butler, a chef, a drivers, nor does he need all those cabinet members.

The budget is only $8.5 Trillion per year so no he is not eliminating the government. Those numbers are calculated over so many years they are pointless because Trump will be gone in 4.

The 2024 federal budget was a deficit of $1.8 trillion, with spending exceeding revenue. The budget included spending on programs, interest payments, and other services. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Spending [4]
  • $6.9 trillion was spent in total, which was 24% of the country's GDP [4]
  • About $4.9 trillion was financed by federal revenues [4]
  • The remaining amount was financed by borrowing [4]
  • The largest increase in outlays was for education ($309 billion) [1]
  • Net outlays for interest on the public debt rose by $239 billion [1]
Revenue [1]
  • Revenues rose by 11 percent, or $479 billion, from 2023 totals
  • Revenues in all major categories, but notably individual income taxes, were greater than they were in fiscal year 2023
Deficit [5]
  • The deficit in 2024 contributed to a national debt of $34.67 trillion through May 2024
Budget process [3]
  • Congress creates the federal budget, which is then approved by the President
  • Money for federal spending primarily comes from government tax collection and borrowing

Trump administration fires over 400 DHS employees as mass firings continue

The Trump administration on Friday moved to fire more than 400 employees at the Department of Homeland Security, the latest effort in a government-wide campaign to dramatically reduce the federal workforce.

Officials at DHS said they had fired hundreds of employees across several of its agencies after supervisors identified "non-mission critical personnel in probationary status"

Right on Cue: Seasonal Trends Nudge Gas Prices Higher

February 13,2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 13, 2025)—As spring approaches, refineries are beginning their transition to summer blend fuel, which often results in higher prices this time of year. This week, gas prices rose by a few cents, bringing the national average to $3.16 per gallon. Routine seasonal maintenance and an offline refinery in Northern California are putting additional strain on supply. These factors are pushing gas prices up, which means consumers may see higher prices at the pump as warmer months approach.

Nobody said he was, except maybe Democrats who are afraid their corruption is about to be found out.
Those numbers are calculated over so many years they are pointless because Trump will be gone in 4.
