A FBI background check on Hegseth, Kavanaugh style

It's really kind of a moot point. There are very very, few women who can actually meet a legitimate standard required for combat. Despite what you may see on TV, even exceptionally strong women are typically not as strong as the average man. I wasn't in the military, but I can assure you that when I was in my early to mid-20s, I would have pummeled the vast majority of military women in hand to hand combat, and was faster and stronger.
If you are engaged in hand-to-hand combat, you have already lost.

My daughter's battalion commander in her ROTC was young woman who beat all of the unit's men in the PT test by a wide margin. This woman was a beast and drop dead gorgeous to boot, and very feminine. She was the daughter of Russian immigrants, prior enlisted in the Army, and the mother of a baby girl. She is now probably a commander of an air defense artillery company. She would have beaten your ass to a pulp before you knew what was happening.

My daughter-in-law was training to be an Army pharmacy tech when she sustained a back injury. She is about 5 foot five but is an amateur boxer. She probably should turn pro as she regularly beat my son to a pulp, and he's a pretty good boxer himself. Two people have broken her coach's nose while sparring: a professional boxer and my daughter-in-law. He trains professional boxers as well.

The process that needs to be changed to set the standards the same. My daughter had to pass the male standard for Air Assault in the 101st Airborne. There is no female standard despite what you might hear.
I don't know that, and sorry, you aren't enough of an expert to merely take your word. You can post a link or two.

Be proud of your daughter. If she passed the same standard as a man, that's all I stated.

So, if a woman is fully capable, she can't? Just because you say so?
no that's not what I'm saying .. i'm saying that since very very few women could meet certain physical demands the military should concentrate its resources to encourage men to fill those roles .. our military shouldn't be a woke proving ground .. when it comes to in close ground fighting its a mans job ..

Well, I ran a sub 5 min. mile, a sub 50 1/4 mile a sub 2:00 1/2 mile and could bench 230 10 times. Once I got a hold of her, she would have been done. But you go ahead believing the women super hero crap you see in the movies.

The Israelis have had women in ground combat far longer than we have. Concentrating its recourses is another pathetic way of saying, "Because I said so!" Are you a frustrated toddler's mom?

You probably would, no neck! Yes, you are old school, but this a new school.

I was in the Navy before women could serve on combatants. There was absolutely no reason they could not, so they were assigned to combat ships shortly after I left active duty. My counterpart on our tender in the Red Sea during the Guld War was female. She did the same job I did, but with female crewmembers on her team. My first ship when I was enlisted was back in 1979 was one of the first auxiliaries with a female doctor. It turns out I was her first patient!

you are correct in labeling me a no neck .. I served in the US army .. and there is absolutely no woman the could lug a 50 pound ruck sack and an M60 machine gun for miles up and down hills for miles like I did that I've ever met .. its biology .. but you are correct in its a new age when it comes to war fighting .. drones , cyber attacks ECT .. there is a place for women in direct combat roles but the infantry isn't one of them .. and no I am not a sexist .. I honor and respect women .. and I behave like a gentleman in there presence .. sorry about getting a little hot in the previous post .. and thank you for your service sir ..

It's like your sex life - maybe you haven't met the right woman yet. :abgg2q.jpg: If there was one who could, why would you limit her options just because it didn't hit you in the "feels" just right? That's called bigotry.

It's like saying blacks should not be in the Navy because they are not naturally good swimmers. Sure, they might fail the initial swim test, but I personally know several SEALs of the color palette. I failed the initial swim test because I had never been in water deeper than a bathtub. After a little instruction in college, I was a first-class swimmer when I graduated.

Democrats Say F.B.I. Did Not Interview Critical Witnesses About Pete Hegseth

Senate Democrats on Monday said that an F.B.I. background check on Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s pick to lead the Pentagon, omitted key details on major allegations against him, in part because it did not include interviews with critical witnesses.

One missed opportunity came when the bureau did not interview one of Mr. Hegseth’s ex-wives before its findings were presented to senators last week, according to people familiar with the bureau’s investigation.

“My understanding is that some of them would like to be contacted by the F.B.I. investigative team, or the vetters, and they have not been talked to,” Ms. Duckworth added in the MSNBC interview.

A spokeswoman for the F.B.I. declined to comment.

Mr. Trump's transition team commissioned the F.B.I. background check on Mr. Hegseth last month after initially floating the idea of hiring private contractors to look into the president-elect’s cabinet picks. As the client, presidential transition teams are traditionally able to set the parameters for background checks into cabinet picks, and potentially dictate which witnesses are interviewed and what questions are asked. The transition team’s directions to the F.B.I. for its investigation of Mr. Hegseth are unknown.

Report says Trump White House obstructed FBI probe into allegations against Kavanaugh

For her part, Sen. Duckworth has noted Dems were not given the same access to Hegseth as Repubs prior to today's hearing.

Duckworth: Trump’s Pentagon pick has less experience than Applebee’s manager

Duckworth held the press call to lay out her concerns about Trump’s nominee, insisting that her objections to Hegseth aren’t motivated by politics but by what his confirmation would mean for national security.

She complained that Sen. Jack Reed (R.I.), the ranking Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, will likely be the only Senate Democrat who will meet with Hegseth before his hearing.
Duckworth also noted that rank-and-file Democrats on the Armed Services panel may not have a chance to fully review the FBI background check on the nominee, an investigation Democrats believe will be critical to assess a sexual assault allegation from 2017 and alleged mismanagement of Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), an advocacy group.

Can anyone think of a reason why trump's transition team would limit the scope of Hegseth's background check as his WH limited the scope of Kavanaugh's? Are they trying to hide his lack of qualifications for the job, his heavy drinking, his abuse of women, his mismanagement of funds for the partisan vets organizations he ran, the reasons he was let go by them, or his bizarre statements on everything from women to religion?
How are you blaming what the FBI did or didn’t do on the “Trump team”?
