Interest groups influence our legislators. It's part of our process - allowing for each citizen to participate in their own government, either through organization or individually. It's one of those fundamental rights.

It was a good question as well, when the Republicans blocked all Democratic involvement in the Medicare Pill Bill legislation and the Republicans had PHARMA lobbyists write the Bill....yes, PHARMA wrote the medicare pill bill that was illegally passed by the House....and the HEAD of the republican committee responsible for the bill and locking dems out of the bill all together, left congress after the bill passed to work for PHARMA on a multi million dollar contract...
