If you're talking about the poor whites— I think you're right. I wouldn't expect a poor white to have much of a chance of rising in South Africa. The government would likely prioritize elevating the status of poor blacks since that's where the votes are. The needs of the poor whites would be ignored because they lack the voting power. I also understand that South Africa has one of the highest murder rates in the world—definitely not a place where I would want to stand out

Murders are happening in South Africa, but there's no way to know how many of them are racially based. I think of the white South Africans as the Jews of Africa, in that they are a rich minority for the most part, and wealth often creates envy. In my personal opinion, given the kind of poverty present in South Africa, it's only a matter of time before the white population come to a bad end. It might be wise to leave now—that’s my perspective.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, one thing I definitely wouldn't do is go around town bragging about it. I'd focus on staying discreet. When you have money, you're a target; I believe this is just as true in Africa as it is here.

I do. Their wealth is stolen and they have long abused any consideration they may feel they are owed. South Africa is an unequal society and needs radical change that benefits the majotity of its people.

So did everyone else in the world, except for the Eskimos/Inuit and possibly the Aboriginal Australians. The Zulu/Bantu people of Southern Africa did not originate in South Africa; they came from Central Africa and murdered and stole everything from there to Southern Africa, totally wiping out and displacing the Aboriginal people of those areas. Meanwhile, the Russians are still murdering and stealing in Ukraine, and I noticed that the government of South Africa doesn't seem to have any problem with their imperialism

The white Afrikaner is right in that there is no genocide. That said, the political ruling party is the ANC and its president, Cyril Ramaphosa has openly said on camera that they will take all of the whites farms without any right to financial compensation.
Regardless of the crap that went on regarding many of the Afrikaners treatment toward the blacks prior to Nelson Mandela, the government should be honoring Mandela's desire that the blacks and whites live in peace, working for a better South Africa. The white farmers have been on that land for many generations and their livelihood is tied up in them.
If Trump or any other president would be offering people with skills to come to this nation to use their skills here, I fail to see any problem.

I understand from our local farmers in this area that the white South Africans who have come here to work as farm laborers are outstanding, much better than either the Mexicans or our local Black farm workers. The ones I met seemed to be extremely grateful for the work and were willing to work long hours without overtime. Farming is one of those jobs where you can't necessarily go home at 5:00 p.m. If you have a crop in the field that's ready to harvest and a weather front is on the way, you have to stay at it until the crop is safely undercover, or an entire year's production could be lost. The South Africans are willing to do that without complaint. Besides that, they are very skilled—not only can they operate machinery, but they can also fix it—and they don't demand a lot of money. I understand that bread and peanut butter are a big part of their diet. It would be beneficial to our farming interests in this area to have more farm workers like them.

The United States Embassy in South Africa said it received a list of nearly 70,000 people interested in refugee status in the U.S. under Trump’s plan. It's an attractive offer for many white South Africans who don't see a bright future for South Africa. Tens of thousands will end up taking up the refugee offer.



Neil Diamond, the president of the chamber, said the list contains 67,042 names. Most were people between 25 and 45 years old and have children.

He told the Newzroom Afrika television channel that his organization had been inundated with requests for more information since Trump’s order and had contacted the State Department and the embassy in Pretoria “to indicate that we would like them to make a channel available for South Africans that would like to get more information and register for refugee status.”

“That cannot be the responsibility of the chamber,” he said.
