If a genocide were to occur against the white population in South Africa, it would not be entirely unforeseeable given the socioeconomic situation in the country. History has shown us that genocides have happened in the past, even recently in Africa. If such an atrocity were to take place, the United States would bear partial responsibility, as we played a role in putting them into this situation. However, by offering refugee status to the white population, we could significantly reduce any moral responsibility that we, as a country, might bear for a possible future genocide.
