Parents do fk up a lot of kids in lots of ways, even good parents. But, after 18, it is up to the child (then adult) choose the right path and actions, the parent no longer responsible. Being a sentient adult requires a certain amount of self discipline, self awareness and introspection, along with a general understanding of what society does and does not approve of, in personal actions.
