AI Company Reports AI Rebellion by Attempted Blackmail of Programmer, Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” Bans States From Regulating AI

I don't want to put words in your mouth....but it sounds like you're saying he's not smart enough to understand the agenda he's helping to bring about. I don't agree that he's that ignorant or unaware.

I do agree with you though that he is a very transactional politician and doesn't have a lot of ideologically motivated political beliefs.

Thanks for posting about all this stuff. It's truly astonishing to me that so few people talk about this or are even aware of the direction things are going in. The opposite is happening, a lot of folks are celebrating as they truly seem to believe we're heading toward a wonderful "Golden Age." I see it more like people having parties on the deck of the Titanic as the ship is sinking.
The Daily Circus and chaos, called Donald J Trump, keeps us unfocused on the real issues which are kept hidden behind the scenes of The DJT Show....

'Regulation' is simply too broad a term. What specific regulations do people want?
Laws against deep fakes, defamation, impersonations? Or keeping our own personal information private? That we don't just become a number? How govt can use AI against us?

You need the man behind the curtain to tell you what the real issues are?

Libtards must be easily distracted.

My daughter has a thing about "causes", but she's only 18. We don't expect that kind of thing from adults.

That's why people say, if you're under 30 and you're not a libtard, you have no heart. If you're over 30 and you're still a libtard, you have no brain.

Nahhh, he's simply the decoy.

This provision in the bill seems to not address federal regulations? I dunno.

Palantir to create vast federal data platform tying together millions of Americans' private records, stock jumps

Sounds like something that deserves its own bill, not just an afterthought to a budget bill. Defamation and impersonation are already illegal.

Personal information that you already willingly gave to private companies? How is that supposed to work?

An example of state legislation that would be outlawed under the bill is this one in Arizona:

HB2175 is among the first legislation of its kind in the U.S. to prohibit medical insurance companies from using AI as the final decision-maker in the review and denial of claims for medical necessity and prior authorization requests. Once in effect, the bill guarantees cases requiring medical judgment are reviewed by licensed medical professionals with the training, experience, and ethical responsibility to make clinical decisions.

Surely adverse uses of AI will propagate over time. Those in Washington should not tie the hands of states to deal with such situations.
