Apple to open R&D center in Israel: report | Reuters

Apple to open R&D center in Israel
Apple will open a research and development center in Israel that will focus on semiconductors, the Globes business daily reported on Thursday.

The Israeli newspaper said the maker of iPods, IPads and iPhones has already hired Israeli high-tech veteran Aharon Aharon to run the center.

The newspaper said Apple vice president of R&D Ed Frank was currently visiting Israel.

Earlier this week, Israeli media reported Apple was in advanced talks to buy Anobit, an Israeli maker of flash storage technology, for $400-$500 million.

Ever since the Palestinian BDS protest movement of Israel, Israel's economy has been booming, mostly from foreign investors. Let us pray the Palestinians & their supporters keep them boycotts comin'.

What I find amazing is they keep taking about boycotting anybody who does business with Israel, yet they keep using Israeli made products themselves!

Good plan by Apple.

Did you know that the Ci7 core from Intel was designed at the Israeli Intel facility? This chip is used to run pretty much all of Steven Hawkings communication equipment...

Lots of smart people in Israel...

If it weren't for the smart people, then all these high tech firms wouldn't be doing a mad dash to open divisions in Israel. They don't want to miss out on the next high tech boom. led by Israel.

Why is this "news" worth a thread? Companies open and close factories all the time.
Well right now one high tech factory after another is opening up a division in Israel, which means all this boycott Israel crap ain't working at all.

This thread has been cleaned of trolling posts and trolling responses. If you can't keep it clean it goes to Badlands.

Smart people.
They had no option.

How Israeli High-Tech Happened

How Israeli High-Tech Happened
Israel became a high-tech hothouse because she had to. True, she enjoys favorable conditions for the growth of high-tech industries; chief among them, well-educated, inventive, enterprising people. Relative to the size of her population, Israel has more engineers, and sees more scientific articles published, than any other country in the world (Israel has 135 engineers per 10,000 people; the US has 85). However, the stimulus for the industry's growth has been national survival, both military and economic.
