Red State! Amen.
I am watching my team (the NY Yankees) playing a home game against the Tiants in Yankee Stadium at this moment (April 12, 2025 @ 9:35 pm, eastern time). In the Bronx, it has been POURING rain all game long.

My insight? Yeah. Yeah. There are inherent dangers in playing baseball in the rain. However, it seems like an ordinary game in terms of most of the elements of the game.

Question: should the “calling” of MBA games on account of rain be terminated (absent more extreme dangers like lighting, dangerously high winds, threats of tornadic activity or threats of flooding, etc.) ?

That game was on MLB Network, it was 5-1 Giants and it was pouring, I only saw a minute or two, enough to wonder why in the hell were they playing? Should have been postponed, I'm guessing they were expecting a break in the rain.

I do believe they are treating this game more like football when it comes to weather.

-no footing on the mound
-no footing on the dirt (worse than grass)
-wild pitches, walks, beaned batters galore
-beaned 3rd baseman and pitchers
-a fly ball in the rain is worse than the sun
-too much maintenance and risk for a glove you use for years or even decades
