In a routine TV political news story the other day, there was mention of somebody bashing somebody else. Routine, but for some reason, this time, my mental overflow alarm was triggered. Is there any other realm, where this term is used more, except maybe combat sports? Are you sick of it, too?

Sure am. Quite guilty of it myself. I think the only way I ever managed to avoid doing it was periods during which I disconnected myself from political stuff entirely.
