BYD selling a fairytale

Reality happened. People are simply whacking your pixie-dust-and-unicorn-flatulence utopian bullshit upside the head with cold reality. The physics are crystal clear, and the claims are physically impossible.

Go for it, invest all your money in BYD! I'm sure it will not end up like Fisker, or Solyndra, or Evergreen Solar, or Lion Electric, or ProTerra.

Yeah.....a one megawatt charging system?
Moving 100kwh from one place to another in five minutes? ..... Someone is going to get killed.

And you invest in Tesler

I'm sorry, is that sentence fragment intended to convey some sort of thought? Or did reading the reality check I posted make your brain lock up?
So you agree Elon is a dope for even trying. So why is the President putting dope in charge of us?

Predictably, the article is short on details. There are only two ways of getting a full charge in 5 minutes (not even considering the daunting demands made of the battery materials), and that is to either increase amperage or reduce capacity.

They say 250 miles driving in 5 minutes. But we all know that means an ideal car in perfect condition operating under ideal conditions. In other words, a realistic 90-150 miles for most.

But what about the charger? 45 amps? 150 amps? The thing would be like a welding machine. Can you just imagine if we all go electric and millions of people are all drawing 100 amps at each home charging their EV?
And just why would you want one of those expensive super chargers at home? A 220 outlet and charger would do the job just fine, because most of us sleep at night and do not need to charge in minutes, hours will do fine. Only on trips do you need something like that.

I am also sure BYD will not end up like those. You see, BYD makes their own batteries, also makes ICE and hybrid vehicles, as well as a complete line of EV's. And there are many, many other EV manufactures in China. Their products are not nearly as costly as those made here, and the quality in many case is equal or superior to what Tesla makes. If the Slate makes it to production, we may have a vehicle to compete with the Chinese.

The future changed, we avoided a great depression, transexual pefophiles teaching our childrn, nuclear war with China and a great famine.

You are certainly delusional.
LOL By the end of this year, we will be looking back on the Biden years as the good old days. As far as pedophiles go, look up Epstein and Trump. We have not avoided any war, and if we let Russia take a significant portion of Ukraine, as Trump suggests, then WW3 is assured. As far as famine, what we are seeing with the climate and the removal of two breadbaskets due to Russia's aggression in Ukraine virtually assures that is in our future.

And just why would you want one of those expensive super chargers at home?

Because it is the one sure place you can go and know that you'll be able to get a charge there. Many places listed on maps as EV charging stations, when you finally get to it, the damn thing isn't working.

And I've had jobs where I was on the clock, on the go all the time, and might not always get home at 6PM, have time to eat dinner, relax and watch TV then go to bed for 8 hours all while my car is happily charging.

Life doesn't always work out nicely like that. For an EV to be practical, is has to be ready when you need it, how you need it, and where you need it. You know--- like a gasoline car.

A car that charges in five minutes? Um ...no.
There are no materials on the planet that can take that kind of punishment... Not at that voltage and amperage. Even if they managed to put it together the battery life would be extremely abbreviated. Moving that much energy that quickly simply cannot be done without massive chemical erosion. I suspect BYD knows this because the founder is a degreed electrical engineer.

Let alone the battery in the car... The charging stations will wear down in a matter of weeks,
quickly becoming both fire and electrical hazards. I would be afraid to sit in the car while it was charging for fear the damn thing would blow up.

Not sure how he could let that one slip. Ain't gonna happen.

They must change batteries

Welcome back!

Where the hell have you been?
