The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in what oerdr the ltteres in a word are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is that the frsit and last ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can still raed it whotuit a pboerlm. This is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt!

How amazing!

I read it quite easily. Yes, the brain is fascinating, I've taken many courses on the manner in which the brain functions. I would wager that the number who could read this is mich higher than 55%, probably more than 85%

Yes, I thought 55% was probably on the low side too. Writing in that manner ain't too easy though!

The percentage of people that that can read the paragraph is probably much higher for we message board readers. Assuming that 55% isn't just a made-up statistic, the 45% that have trouble with the paragraph probably are not good readers with correctly spelled text either.

Actually most people can read it because, as your post says, the human brain doesn't read every letter, but the whole word or phrase at once.

Also, the human brain uses contextual clues in the paragraph.
Precisely. It's similar to when I make typing errors on here when I wake up with my numbness, my eye sight is poor. We can distinguish what is declared even if poorly written.

If someone was reading a book and there were some words outright missing we could still understand the general idea and fill in the most common words,

You misspelled "Can."
