CBC calls Canadian Election for Liberals

The Canadian Broadcast Corporation has determined that The Liberal Party will form the next government. Thier leader Justin Trudeau has talked progressive through the long campaign. (11 weeks is what we call a long campaign here). They haven't determined whether it will be a Liberal majority or minority government. If the forecast holds (looks like a majority to me) we will see if that progressive talk turns into action up here.

It looks like the Liberal Party will get ~187 seats, thus it will absolutely be a majority government.

That's actually rather impressive considering the overall left-wing vote is still divided between NDP and the Liberals, while the Conservative Party more or less had the right-wing vote all to themselves.

I don't believe Harper's government ever reached 180 seats....? I know they were only a majority government for the past 4 years.

I was going to add that's probably part of the reason I voted Liberal instead of my usual New Democrats. It really could have been a significant factor.
