CBC calls Canadian Election for Liberals

It looks like the Liberal Party will get ~187 seats, thus it will absolutely be a majority government.

That's actually rather impressive considering the overall left-wing vote is still divided between NDP and the Liberals, while the Conservative Party more or less had the right-wing vote all to themselves.

I don't believe Harper's government ever reached 180 seats....? I know they were only a majority government for the past 4 years.

The Canadian voter is as fickle as anywhere. A lot of them can't decide if they're left wing or right wing. But there does seem to be around a solid 55% left leaning.

No, Harper never got 180 seats but 30+ new seats were added this year. And yes he only had 1 majority government. He's making his victory speech right now and sounds very progressive. We'll see....Congratulations for your knowledge of Canadian politics. Most Americans say Meh...with a shrug. Can you imagine? And can you imagine a lot of the world thinks you guys are very self-centered.
