Russia is not unaware that this is all about America's push toward Russia's borders and beyond.

In any case, this is a humanitarian effort by Russia to minimize casualties, compared to America's Iraq1 and Iraq2 wars. Not to even have to mention the slaughter of the people of Vietnam.
