China May Have More Problems Than Realized.

America is still number one, definitely on military might.

Where exactly do you think they are in their endeavor for world dominance?
Being slightly better than china is not good enough

They dont care how many chinese soldiers die as long as they win

But I want to win and have our troops live to tell about it

Wait, you think China is ready to go to war with America now in their endeavor for world dominance?

I dont know what the timeline for china is

But the day they think they can win is the day the US will have to prove them wrong

I think we're living in a civilized time period where such saber rattling threats aren't necessary.

That said we need steadiy, smart leadership at the helm if we want to maintain our position in the world.

Nothing has changed about human nature since the dawn of man, NOTHING.

What CCP wants from Taiwan is two things.
Taiwan Banks being flush with cash can prop up the CCP banks with desperately needed liquidity as China has a commercial paper/junk bond problem over real estate ventures that were ridiculous and frivolous.
Entire high rise cities have been built that are essentially empty. No one wants the condominiums they have for sale or rent.

Then there's the silicon wafer/microchip production. The machines that make these chips are 2 years out from order date. They are incredibly expensive and not allowed to be sold to CCP. TSC, Micron, Intel, NVIDIA, and etc all have production facilities there due to the highly skilled workforce and relatively inexpensive labor force.

After the trillions of dollars of investment in Taiwanese factories if CCP were to invade they would "nationalize" the wafer industry and essentially steal the factories.

Not happening. This isn't like stealing an oil well or an oil refinery....this is basically robbing the entire world....them the 75% of all global supply of chips will be controlled by CCP and subject to their willingness to sell to anyone. (They have destroyed industries before when global dominance is reached)

So.....no.

Absolute dictatorship have made bigger miscalculations in the past

China has internal problems which on the pain scale of 1 to 10 are an 8 or 9

They are getting desperate

Good vid on China! It covers both the good & the bad of current day China. From military to senior citizen retirement & a lot in between like it's really an interesting vid. I really liked the army of robots they are constructing like they somewhat reminded me of the Hyper Alloy Terminator Chassis, but not as beefy & don't look like they are as tough either. They even showed a robot pooch that was kind of cute in it's own way! Modern day cities with sky scrappers & nobody living in those cities like I couldn't believe it. It sounds like the Chinese folks have had it with the communalist form of g'ment but that's covered in the vid somewhat.

Xi is in a bind. The local governments are given a lot of autonomy, and they borrowed heavily to build those ghost cities. China is experiencing the same real estate bubble we had here in the early aughts.

And now that bubble is popping.

The Shanghai index has reflected that fear.

But the Chinese central bank just enacted a looser monetary policy (stimulus) and that is giving the stock market a huge boost.

Perhaps this will allow all those borrowers who built all those ghost cities to refinance under better terms.

Their population is going to shrink, no question. the are prepared to see as much as a 500M person. That might actually assist their system in some ways especially if they raise the retirement age which today I believe is 60.
A shrinking population presents the opposite problem. Less youth supporting more elderly is destructive to an economy.

They have raised the retirement age recently, not as much as they could have, but I'd expect them to raise it many times in the next few years. In 10 or 20 years they'll have so many retired people they won't be able to afford pensions or healthcare.

But they'll still be able to afford more money for the military/
We are also going to have to raise our retirement age. We should have a long time ago.

We also have a less-than-replacement birth rate, as do most other advanced economies.
